Hi KGP,

First, thanks again for your guide, I'm running this setup since 2017 and it's working like a charm !
My build is used for work only (3D softwares and animation stuffs) and for some reasons I must update to macOS HighSierra (I need latest GPU drivers for an upcoming software update), I'm pretty nervous thinking about update my system.
I think it could be the time to install from scratch and I'm wondering if I could follow this guide for installing 10.13 or if I have to follow the next guide (this one about your iMac Pro build).

Setup :
- Asus X99 TUF
- i7 6950X
- 2x GTX 1080
- M2 Drive for os
- 64 GB 2400Mhz

Currently on 10.12.6 (and never had an issue since the first install ^^).

Thanks !

You should definitely follow the other guide. Clone your 10.12.6 system disk incl. your 10.12.6 EFI-Folder before any update. Then you are 100% save.

Ok thanks for your reply, see you there ;)

Too? I am Austrian, but obviously I speak German too.. Moreover, after spending in total about 12 years in Germany, my German improved significantly.. ;)

Did you read at the beginning of Section C.) in my 10.13 and 10.14 guides, what is necessary to receive my help and support along my threads (in red, bold face) actually? Please provide more useful information and facts instead of a simple wording.. Based on your first information provided above, I am not able to help you at all. Sorry for that..

Moreover, talking about Mojave you are posting in the totally wrong thread. This thread is about macOS 10.12 Sierra.

Cheers, man and until soon

KGP

P.S.: This forum is English only.. for sure you just witnessed that posts in a different language than English are deleted immediately.. ;)

Hi KGP, i ran your build since march, and it works very well , cry stable.... i followed your guide, thanks a lot for this. My problem now is that i would install the thunderboltEX 2 to use a promise pegasus2 R6 tower to have fast storage.

I saw infos even in this thread, but can you or someone else make a guide step by step?
So :
1 - i have to install windows for exemple windows 10 64bit
2 - i install the drivers of thunderboltEX2
3 - i install new firmware of thunderboltEX2
4 - all that without change nothing in bios yet?
5 - after i return in osX i modify bios? what can i change?
.
.
.

You see it's a little bit confused for me?

I'm using so asus X99 A 2 motherboard.

Can anyone could write by some line, the step by step guide?

Thank a lot in advance.

Enable TB in BIOS as soon as possible.

Never heard about a TBEX 2 though..

This 10.12.6 guide has not been updated for years anymore. Why don’t you follow my actual 10.13.6 of 10.14 guides?

Good luck!

Hi KGP,

but BoomR seems to had success on page 36 and message 353 on this actual thread.
I want to keep my build the one i did with your guide, because it's very stable and i works on this, if i start a new build and i have problems, my works will be affected.

Thanks

His post dates back to March 2017. Many things changed in the meanwhile. I really recommend to also read

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...o-x99-successful-build-extended-guide.227001/

and

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ful-build-extended-guide.255117/#post-1769350

The actual Sierra thread is basically frozen and dead. The guide in the originating post has been updated last time in October 2017.

But i dind't want to change my build , cause it works just fine. In your new threads, i have to modify bios etc... i affraid to do this because my build could not working fast and i have to work with my machine, it is why i wanted a "short" guide to install thunderboltEX2 with my original build.
I will shake your post..

Thanks
