Well, I was able to update the microcode to my Asrock bios! =) Almost have the performance of what I had before the SU with prior performance patch, the new one you provided still terrible. But I think I might be making some progress.

Been thinking that microcode was part my issue with the latest apple update. Seems that is partially true.

Just an update as I keep plugging away. BTW, when you get time, revert to your prior performance patch and run geekbench and let me know if your score is similar to the one you posted here #2572.

Oh and never think I expect you to drop everything, it is always a "when you get a moment of time IF you would".

The performance patch for 10.14.0 does not work with 10.14.1! No reason to do the testing you propose above. I already know the result, which would be just terrible..

Ok I seen you put the new Performance patch in the guide. I just took a look at it. I know why what you posted was causing me issues. the last 909090 was missing in the replace!!!!

The patch I provided you originally in the post was correct. There was a typo in the patch implemented in the guide, which I now corrected.

Find and Replace values MUST have SAME amount of digits! Logics, isn't it?

Thus the correct patch is:

Reverted to prior Performance patch, now that firmware is updated in bios. Performance is just about on par to the pre-Apple SU and has been running stable the past 24hrs+.

The Performance patch for SU causes my setup major performance hit not sure as to why, but it does. And on that note, issue closed.

Total revision of my former XHC USB Kext Creation Guideline

Note that I just finished a major revision of my XHC USB Kext Creation Guideline in the spirit of the 10.14.1 com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBXHCI USB port limit kernel patch flaw.

Attached below a revised version of your EFI-Folder originally attached to post #2577.

I basically removed all unnecessary kernel patches, not only by also assuming that your MSR register is unlocked.

If this EFI-Folder does not reveal the expected performance, there is still something at odd with your microcodes.

BTW.. the 10.13.6 XCPM_performance_patch is not supposed to work with 10.13.6 SU.

With this, the topic is also closed from my side.

Booted up with that which you provided. It seems my cpu stays at 1.2Ghz only. Now the prior performance patch put it around 2.94Ghz with a few little peaks above 3.6Ghz, but is around 2Ghz to 2.5Ghz mostly. (via intel power gadget) when I run geekbench and cinebench.

The Asrock motherboard I have doesn't have a CFG-Lock register. So with your config.plist I had to check KernelPM and enable the core you had set to disabled. My prior config.plist had that xcpm_program_msrs in it where I didn't have to enable the core scope msrs and KernelPM.

Booted up ubuntu on a usb stick and ran geekbench on it to compare the score.

Makes me wonder if I should put ubuntu back on it! Incredible score from a usb stick using live linux with bare configuration.

I'm jumping from your previous guide to this one for updating to 10.13.6
I'm doing a clean installation and I got a kernel panic at step D.4.7 when I reboot for the 1st time during the installation.
When I boot from the USB and I select the current disk who I'm installing the os, after a few lines, it's frozen with the message 'Please go to https://panic.apple.com".
I tried to change disk installation, change APFS to HFS, in any case I can't go further.
I also tried to enable the "_xcpm_core_scope Kernel patch" in case I've doing any mistake during the bios patch, but no luck.

Do you have any idea ?

Configuration :

- ASUS Sabertooth X99
- i7 6950X
- 2x 1080
- 64 GB RAM

My friend, it is difficult to answer or to give you any advice based on the information you provide above. At first place, it would be useful to upload your EFI-Folder and a complete set of screenshots of your actual BIOS settings.

I also do not really understand at which step the MacOS Installation fails in your case. Apparently, you can successfully boot with the EFI-Folder and the respective macOS installer on your macOS Flash drive installer, and successfully complete the initial macOS installation procedure, which basically consists in the creation of the macOS installer partition on your future system drive? Now after reboot, you boot again with the EFI-Folder on your macOS USB flash drive installer but this time you correctly start from the "Install macOS .." partition on your system disk apparent within the Clover boot menu?

Are you sure that you are using the EFI-Folder on your macOS USB flash drive installer for booting your system also in this second step of the macOS installation or do you boot with the EFI-partition on your system disk instead? Is there at all an EFI-partition and EFi-Folder on your system disk and is the latter identical with the one on your macOS USB flash drive installer?
