Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Did anyone has problems with Vega56 from Sapphire (Pulse) getting working normally without the fanspeed issue? Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it's just goes on fire and speeds up with no need. Have tried to use a Vega56 Table Kext as well as the Vega 56 Air Kext which gives me normal behaviour but kills strangly my 60fps possibility with 4K. Only works with 4K@30fps... Workaround with INNA player works, but not the best =/

Have you tested with VGATab, Pastrychefs build link has it at the bottom of the page.

Ya, i figured out 1 hour ago myself and then went there to check if something new is happening. It indeed worked. I justed set my Idle to 1000rpm and my TargetTemp to 55°C left everything else as it was and put the generated kext to EFI-Folder -> /Kexts/others

This is my idle status:
"Fan Speed(%)"=20
"Fan Speed(RPM)"=1007
"Temperature(C)"=29

Works pretty good so far :) Thank you!

Hey guys,

I dropped in a Powercolor R9 270 to try and get Mojave going. It works fine on a Sierra build on a separate partition and i’ve been doing fine on 10.13 w/nvidia. It’s seen as a 6811 by windows and Mac system report. Using Clover, I have lilu, whatevergreen, fakeid=0x68101002, fixdisplay, and inject ati. Mojave panics whenever inject ati = true. I’ve tried different frame buffers and combos of inject ati and deint. No success. I can boot into the Mojave w/o ati inject on low graphics. Panic happens at AMDradeon4030hwlibs.

Any ideas why the card works in 10.12 and not 10.14?

Update Lilu.kext and dependancies.

Thanks - So I've actually had 1.2.7 in Clover/Kexts/Other the whole time. When I look at the early boot log, I have a 1.2.1 prelinked so macos is refusing to load the newer one. Using kextstat, I see this entry:

15 0 0xffffff7f81334000 0x19000 0x19000 as.vit9696.Lilu (1.2.1) 556769C6-DA78-33EB-977F-C39420638467 <7 5 4 3 2 1>

I can't find the old lilu. Looked through finder (hidden files too) and S/L/E. Also kext cache is current.

Your help is appreciated.

@jrchiong It is probably still cached somewhere. The only way I could update in the past was to copy the new version to /L/E and then run Onyx, selecting the options to clears all caches and then reboot. On reboot, which took a few seconds longer than usual, all was solved.

Edit: Link to Onyx for those who don't know https://www.titanium-software.fr/en/onyx.html

Just updated to Mojave and now my Vega 64 fans no longer keep spinning when the GPU is on idle, finally... yay!

Good to know. I am building a new rig. I have the same mobo you have and I am about to get a Vega 64 liquid. Should I get it or not?

My bad, I spoke too soon.
After the GPU does something demanding like video render or playing a 3d game it won't turn off the fans once temps go back down, it stays at a low rpm :S
I have seen people mentioning some possible solutions but I haven't tried them yet.
