Hey guys,

I've finally hunted down the constant freezes / hangs that I get on Windows 10 on my XPS 13 9360.
When swapping back the Broadcom card to the vanilla KillerWifi the problem is completely gone.

Symptom: Windows 10 completely locks up after a few minutes on Windows 10 (only on battery). I have to hardreset the laptop by pushing the power button for 10seconds.

Is there anyone with a similar problem / solution or might the broadcom card just be faulty? It works perfectly under macOS with the correct kexts and patches.

Hello, same problem here. Windows freeze after 30 second. And it cannot find my 2,4ghz wireless router but only other router that i think are in 5 Ghz.

Some driver conflict/problem?

any update - were you able to solve this issue? It only works in safe mode. If I use it in regular windows mode, it freezes.

I have the same issue. As I would assume that lots of users installing macOS on their XPS 9360 will switch for the DW1560 Wifi/BT card still want to be able to use Windows 10... so I would like to know is there anyone who uses the DW1560 and does not have the freezing issue in Windows 10? If so what driver are you using?

I find it hard to believe that everyone using the DW1560 on the XPS 9360 just accepts that they cannot really use Windows 10 anymore. For me it also makes no difference if on power supply or battery, I get the system freeze either way.

Any info of help appreciated.

Thanks,
Juergen

Hi,

Same issue here. Somebody with the same laptop as I have (XPS 15 9570) does have his OEM DW1570 working under Windows 10, with the only issue that it needs to manually reconnect after sleep. This suggests that some Chinese cards work while other cause issues. Does somebody have a direct link to an already purchased card that does not freeze Windows 10 (1803/1809) on his/her Dell XPS 13/15 laptop ? ..... or perhaps a workaround other than using an USB based WiFi adapter ?

This does not seem to solve it. Did you download specific drivers somewhere or did you stick to the drivers that Windows 10 comes with for this card ?
try it

@Killuminati91,

Yes it's a known issue that affects some systems, the root cause is that the windows driver is just a repackaged Win 7 BCM95342 mini PCIe version and is not specific to the M.2 BCM95342Z version running on Windows 10. The driver file bcmwl63a.sys crashes when a badly timed interrupt occurs (confirmed using an oscilloscope on the interrupt line) .

However, it only seems to do it on some systems and/or BCM95342Z suggesting that the interrupt line level logic on some cards is tighter than on others ... I did a lot of research and investigation on the issue but never found a solution ... in the end I gave up on the BCM95342Z (DW1560) and replaced it with a DW1830,

I posted my findings in this post:-

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...7-7500u-kaby-lake.213327/page-17#post-1609866

The BCM43602 WiFi chipset on a DW1830 card is a much better WiFi solution with MacOS native support but you must add a 3rd Antenna, Bluetooth is handled by a BCM20450 chipset which supports BT4.1LE thus allowing much better continuity and handoff compatibility.

Trust me you wont find a solution, save yourself the pain and get a DW1830, you may (like i did) have to tape the enable/disable pins 54 & 56 which i covered in the above link.

Cheers
Jay
