@WilleC, Back in the day...that was true (circa 2010-2011). However, ASUS motherboards are now very macOS friendly as you can see my @pastrychef's and my builds.

Thanks! I normally prefer using Asus motherboards, so this is great news. :)

Have a nice weekend!

I just received this board for another build. I tried to swap my hack motherboard and do a clean install of MacOS Mojave, current status:

Works:
  • DP works, DP audio is also recognized.
  • USB ports work (haven't tried all of them though).
Current issues:
  • Audio isn't working, even with the S1220A related patches.
  • Reboot/Shutdown don't work at all, even with FixShutdown.
Not yet tested:
  • Sleep
  • BT/WiFi (I have a replacement card coming

Would appreciate some help with the issues if anyone wants to :)

@pastrychef regarding your post around USB3.1 and the m2 slot.

In system information, under USB, OSX shows a USB 3.1 Hub, every device I connect on the motherboard shows connected under this hub.

The m2 slot is kind of a nightmare though at the moment. I was able to swap the Intel card with a BCM94360CS2 with an M.2 adaptor. WiFi works, but BT doesn't. Even with USBInjectAll and kext patches, the Bluetooth USB hub never shows up.

I have this board for 1-2 more days and I'm happy to post some more information / do more testing.

You are using the Z390-I?

I'm very surprised Wi-Fi is working for you. This is great news.

Try fixing your USB using this guide. Once USB is fixed, Bluetooth should work.

@pastrychef gonna try that out later today, one other thing that doesn't seem to work at all is shutdown and reboot. Even with FixShutdown, it looks like OSX gets stuck.

I don't know how to go about troubleshooting or fixing the shutdown/reboot.

I'll update after fixing the USBs in a few hours. It could be that the shutdown is stuck because of that, wouldn't surprise me.

Another little update, it looks like VirtualSMC doesn't work with this motherboard, it makes Clover hang at "Scan Entries" and reboot. I googled for the error and some suggested to replace the HFS driver, but that didn't work.

Just followed the guide, and it seems like the only file that resembles the one in the guide is called `SSDT-4-xh_cfsd4.aml`. It looks very different than the example. I've attached it, if it helps I can also attach the entire folder.

Ok I was able to get Bluetooth working with FacePCIID + Mux + USBInjectAll! I'll compile a patch soon to enable only the ports I need and removing the usb limit patch.
