pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I think that 64GB should be fine too. I just randomly chose 128GB.
I think you mean MegaBytes.

Anyway I tried to accomplish get rid of WhateverGreen but I get black screen. I adjusted config too.
I run iMacPro1,1 and all what you did. Any idea?

P.S. that dialog you showed above in #3443 with both GPU's, which tool is it captured?

Oops. Lol

That is from iStat Menu.

As scottkendall previously informed us, the device properties are not needed to get IGPU to work. I did some further testing on my own and made some amazing discoveries...

Not only is it not necessary to enter device properties, we don't even need WhateverGreen. I am currently running as follows:
  • No config.plist > Device > Properties entries related to IGPU.
  • No config.plist > Graphics > Inject Intel.
  • No config.plist > Graphics > RadeonDeInit.
  • No WhateverGreen.
  • GFX0 to IGPU rename.
  • PEGP to GFX0 rename.
  • 128MB assigned to IGPU in BIOS.

Everything works as it had been working! This is with IGPU enabled, an AMD Vega, and a single 4K monitor on Mojave. The IGPU is recognized as "Intel HD Graphics CFL CRB" and the Vega is recognized as "Radeon RX Vega 56". This is truly native support at its best.

Things that I haven't tested and may benefit from having WhateverGreen installed:
  • Multi-monitor setups. (Upon further testing, I found that with this configuration, only one of the DisplayPorts are functional.)
  • HDMI. (Tested. HDMI works and can be used for multi-monitor setups.)
  • Trying to get 4K@50/60Hz over HDMI.
  • Nvidia video cards.
  • High Sierra.

I know that a lot of users like to run their systems with as few kexts as possible, so depending on your configuration, it may be safe for you to remove WhateverGreen.

something is strange ... in ATM there is no igpu .. but with ioreg I see that it is igpu ... what else can test igpu present ?... geekbench also does not see igpu .... tests are zero

This is how it is supposed to be. When IGPU is configured to be headless, it will not show in System Information > Graphics/Displays.

  • Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL (directly from app)
  • macOS version prior update: macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra
  • Clover version: Clover r4674
  • Time for update: 40 minutes
  • Additional notes:
    • 3 Restarts, no panics.
    • My Vega 64 now finally does not spin the fan when in idle, YAY!!
    • The system feels a bit snappier although boot times seem longer.
The new "Take a photo" and "Scan Document" features are not working for me, everything else like iMessage and continuity works fine, anyone else?
Also, my boot drive has "SMART status: Disabled", is that normal? (960 NVME) I had a SMART issue with a DATA mechanical drive and now I am a bit paranoid.

I just tested "Take Photo" and "Scan Documents" (my first time trying) and ti worked perfectly with my iPhone X.

It appears that SMART status on my Samsung 970 EVO (NVMe) is also disabled. I'm sure I have it enabled in BIOS. I don't know why it's not working in macOS. SMART status is working for all my other drives.

It looks like the kernel panic is from NVMe which probably means it's related to the Intel Optane SSD.

I haven't read of anyone trying to use one of the Intel Optane SSDs so I don't know if it works... I would try installing with the Intel Optane pulled out.

Ohhh Thanks a lot man! Yeah, about that Optane, is there any way I could disable it with taking it out? Because the system was custom made by a company and it water cooled so it would be seriously hard for me to take it out. Maybe a clover patch or something to ignore the device? I have to graphics card in my rig if it makes a difference for changing something in BIOS to disable it for maximum speed on the PCIe slots or something? Just throwing around possible solutions, maybe it can spark up some idea :p

Again, thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it!

I'm not sure... I think that on my BIOS, there is a setting to disable M.2. Try looking for BIOS settings to enable/disable devices.
