Hey, I'm trying to follow the steps on toleda's guide to get my audio working, but in the steps it shows I need to original AppleHDA.kext. I downloaded the install file, used pacifist, but am unable to locate the actual .kext file. I only end up with an exec file :S

EDIT: Reinstalled Mojave to get original AppleHDA.kext

Attached is original AppleHDA.kext for macOS Mojave 10.14

unable to locate the actual .kext file.
A kext is a directory consisting of many files as your screenshot shows
Use Pacifist/Extract as noted
Link goes to a deprecated thread

Much simpler to run the Mojave installer over the current install, automatically restores native Mojave AppleHDA.kext

THanks so much bro! save me heaps of time!

Thanks for posting this. I don't know why there are so many guides with thousands of words in that don't post the actual kext when this is exactly just what most people need.

It is not a good idea to install files from unverified sources, you could be open to all kinds of malware.
It only takes a few minutes to extract from the installer yourself.
