Hello All,

I am struggling with getting acceleration working. It starts to boot with it but 3/4 along the screen flashes and the apple logo goes bigger. I have checked a few things but getting confused. I am using a 2k monitor in the hdmi port, it once showed under scaling 2560 x 1440 but no more.

I have attached my efi folder incase I've missed something.

Thank you

  • A quick look was not showing anything glaringly abnormal.
  • Nitpicking showed some which I have edited on the uploaded images from your EFI screen capture.
  • How are your BIOS >Peripherals> Init Display First and the DVMT-Pre-Allocated Set?
    • Can you upload screen shots?

He should use the latest versions of AppleALC, Lilu and WhateverGreen and remove IntelGraphicsFixup and Shiki.

IntelGraphicsFixup and Shiki are superseded by WhateverGreen.
Using them together is not supported and will lead to undefined behaviour.

He should also remove NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and enable native power management
See macOS Native CPU/IGPU Power Management

These two steps combined should resolve all issues. I am using HD 630 on my setup and have full acceleration with Whatevergreen and the steps in the Native PM post. Wake from sleep(system sleep; display-only sleep works fine) doesn't seem to work, but from my understanding that's something that can't be fixed when using the iGPU instead of a dedicated GPU.

Hi,

I have followed the guide posted above and followed Khaibit advice too. I have attached a screenshot of the pm output which shows some acceleration. I still can't select 2560 x 1440 and can't listen to sound though Hdmi.

Thank you

I have solved my issue, I set ig-platform-id to 0x59230000 which is an Intel iris 635 HD graphics card. My HDMI sound is working too. The apple logo flashes whilst booting but I'm not sure why.
