It will work all the way through all of those. Sierra is a good starting point if you can get the software download. Make sure to set up your account in App Store to get High Sierra and download it before Mojave takes over and it will no longer be available. Sierra and the RX will require a newer version of clover and Rad de init setting inmclover graphics but in HS and Mojave it will work natively.

I don't think you need an Apple ID to download High Sierra now. On my hackintosh system I can download High Sierra without need to login to the Mac App Store.

If you want to access it later it’s in your purchased section. I have El Capitan-HS in mine and all I have to do is log in to my account to download them.

Yes, that may be advantageous. But since I keep all downloaded installers myself it is no big deal for me if I lose access to them on the Mac App Store later. I don't want to depend on Apple continuing to make them available.

I’ve found it handy if a friend wants to upgrade their Mac I just log in to the App Store in their system and download it then place it on their desktop and log out. Then it’s ready for them to load when they want. A lot of people stuck in lion or Mavericks can’t upgrade to High Sierra due to hardware limits so having El Capitan available is real convenient.

Does El Capitan and Sierra still require logging in to download? Apple provided the link to El Capitan / Sierra in separate support documents, and Apple did not say you need to login.

Hello, I just wanted to ask anyone's insight towards my current build if it can handle Sierra, High Sierra, heck even Mojave when it's possible. If not, which version would you recommend? Thanks in advanced.

CPU - Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell Quad-Core 3.1 GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1150
MOBO - Asus Maximus VI Hero LGA1150
GPU - XFX Radeon RX 570 RS Black Edition 1328MHz, 8gb 256bit GDDR5
Monitor - Asus VH226H 21.5" HDMI Widescreen 16:9 Full HD 1080P LCD
HDD - Maxtor 6V200E0 200GB 7200RPM SATA 3.5 Inch Hard Drive
RAM - Patriot Viper 4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000
How is this working for you? How much was the final cost?

Thanks for posting about your build BlackHat! I just ordered an RX 570 to replace my GTX 970. Did you use any specific kext/patches or was it recognized natively by Mojave?

Sorry for the late reply. Regarding Kext/Patches, it should be working natively with RX 570. But as what Gigamaxx said, tick rad de init just in case.

No worries, I just ordered one and am updating my clover now to get access to the Rad de init setting. Thanks for the heads up I'm excited!
