Thanks Gigamaxx, I will try Mojave later when it release because Sierra has no support HDMI or DP audio of RX 580.

You may want to download High Sierra too while it’s still available. You don’t have to install it but it may come in handy to have if you want to later. It’s 5.3gb so it takes up some memory but it can be loaded on a USB or storage drive just in case.

Use the search tool here and look for “HDMI audio”. You may get it working.

Yes, this is corrrct, only High Sierra will allow the card to function correctly. Sierra has Vega references in the Kexts but not the IDs in the info plists.

It should work, the only non compatible AMD RX cards ar the XFX RX 460-560 brand models (vbios is incompatible) and all brands of RX 550 models only one of those might work it’s a Sapphire Pulse model and has 0x67FF device ID but it is not reported working yet that I know of.

Interested in picking up a RX580 for the native experience. I currently run a GTX 740 because I run my hack as vanilla as possible. For example, my only kext is fakesmc. Everything else, including my intel ethernet card, is native.

Is there a RX580 card that I can run native similar to my GTX 740? I don't want to have ANY additional kexts or drivers. Thanks!

Caveat, you will need to run High Sierra 13.6 or Mojave to get full nativity without any Kexts or clover rad de init settings. It will work in Sierra with clover/graphics setting/rad de init.

Rad de init was developed by Mieze to address that issue, and it seems apple has incorporated it into the software in HS 13.6 +

Stay away from the XFX brand. Sapphire (which I have and Apple recommends) and MSI RX 580 cards will work. To be on the safe side, get the Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB card as it works OOB.
