pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Thank you for your guidance man
Beside...the developer suggests differently

There are very few exceptions to the rule... Generally speaking, 3rd party kexts should go in /Library/Extensions/. Even the Nvidia web drivers have changed from installing in /System/Library/Extensions/ to /Library/Extensions/.

The few exceptions that I know about to the above rule include the kexts you listed and the kexts for PS2 keyboard. Neither of these should be required for desktop hackintoshes.

@pastrychef . Im lost. Now I lost audio completely. I rather confused by this, since the only thing I did was to add the usb ssdt file, which in my opinion shouldn't have any effect on the audio.
But this new method is supposed to use Whatevergreen to patch audio or what is supposed to go on ?
Seems something isn't loading/patching correctly !
Did I miss a step we have to individually to patch audio devices ?

The SSDT-USB.aml file should not affect audio.

The only thing WhateverGreen helps with is HDMI/DisplayPort audio. Other aspects of audio are handled by AppleALC.

What did you patch? ALC1220A is supported by AppleALC. You shouldn't have to patch anything.

What output sources do you see in System Preferences>Sound?
What do you currently have in /Library/Extensions/?
Please post your EFI folder again.
You can also try to reinstall the macOS 10.13.6 Combo Update to make sure that you have a clean AppleHDA. Please don't try to use other fixes after running the Combo Update.

I didn't actually do anything, other than add the usb ssdt file. Which is why I'm so confused. I was just wondering why on earth it behaves like this - since I understood that the audio should be detected automatically. I could probably get sound which just breaks after sleep if I injected an audio lay-out, but that doesn't really work, and I it shouldn't be needed.
Thank you again.

Your EFI looks fine. Your /Library/Extensions/ looks good too.

I don't know why but your Sound preference pane looks different from mine and you are missing "Internal Speakers" which is the green audio jack in the back.

Did you try to run the Combo Update again yet?

I liked what you had for the Vega 56 with the 150% TDP and same fan targets. Basically same as your revised Vega 56 but for the 64. Thanks so much. I tried again a couple times but it doesn't do anything on my system when I click to create the kext.
I attached below. min fan speed:800 max fan:4900 temp target:57 tdp:150%

Thank you for creating the other file I do have a request and that is that you possibly remake the fan curve. I feel like that when working I sit on the cusp of where the fan really starts to ramp up so it ramps up and then down and up and down. Like maybe 62 instead of 57 or make it ramp up a bit sooner like 52. Other than in the fans fluctuating in the middle of the curve the kext works great.
