If you don't understand something Google is a good tool.

CSM = Compatibility Support Module and you can read how to enable/disable it in your motherboard manual.

Windows installer is very stupid and wants to install on first drive the PCH sees on boot up always.
That is why I said to disconnect all other drives - there was a drive "ahead" of the Win10 drive in the SATA port order the PCH recognizes the ports and Win10 installer, wanting to install files on the first drive it sees, tried to install them there and could not do it, so it comes back with error message about unable to install.

This did it for me. I think I entered that silly 25 digit code a dozen times before I figured out that this was the problem.

Followed this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-multibooting-uefi-on-separate-drives.198869/

But kept getting the error "windows could not prepare to boot into the next phase of installation." Kept thought it was the CMS enable (on gigabyte boards this buried under "Windows 8/10 features"). It wasn't.

I had two other drives on the rig, an SSD and an old standard drive. Figured since one was 250 GB and the other 500 GB, couldn't confuse them with my 1 TB, and accidentally delete the wrong drive. However, as Going Bald states, the Windoze installer is stupid. Disconnected those drives and I was able to proceed with installation.

The whole episode made me a feel a little guilty for not paying the Apple tax. However, if they were building desktops worth buying, I'd have surely paid it.

I had a very similar issue with multiple drives. It appears I was getting to the windows install efi via a clover boot usb. I needed to remove that just before installing onto the hard drive. The hard drive you want to install windows 10 on has to be the only Drive available.

It seems I am facing a similar problem,

as I am a newbie on windows, I am not sure and I'd rather posting my problem here.

So, on my Hackintosh :
  1. In the Hackintosh, I installed a second Hard drive 250 GB
  2. Under MacOS, I formatted the second drive to HFS+ journalised and called it Windows10
  3. Under MacOS, I made a Windows 10 bootable USB Key on my Hackintosh running macOS with unetbootin
  4. I boot on the Windows 10 bootable USB Key
  5. Under Windows10 Installation, I choose: Install, custom install
  6. Under Windows10 Installation, I Delete the partition Windows10
  7. Under Windows10 Installation, I choose Next
  8. Windows installation process starts and stops with this message (see picture1). "Translation in english: Windows has detected that EFI system partition is formatted with NFS. Format the EFI system partition with FAT32 then restart your installation".
what's wrong with this procedure ?

In order to be the "only Drive" can I disconnect other drives from BIOS or should I open the computer and disconnect all drives manually ?

You can disable the drive ports in BIOS/UEFI or disconnect physically - either method works.

not sure if you have solved this, all you have to do is disable all the drives but the windows drive, then enable it after windows 10 is installed
