Hi all -

I have a working High Sierra build (10.13.5) on the following hardware:
Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H with latest available BIOS update
i7-4770K
32GB RAM
nVidia 640
Clover 4411
Triple-boots MacOS, Windows 10 and Linux; one UEFI SSD with MacOS, another UEFI SSD with Windows and Linux, and one hard drive for data.
I have no problems with this box (except being unable, after many attempts, to get Facetime to work).

I'm trying to set up a second Hackintosh on a very similar machine:
Gigabyte Z97X-UD7 TH with latest available BIOS update
i5-4690K
32GB RAM
On-board Intel 4600 graphics
Currently dual-boots Windows and Linux from on UEFI SSD; another UEFI SSD is cloned (via dd) from the first machine with the MacOS partitions (will change serial number and other info once it's bootable, or do a fresh install).

However, if I try to boot MacOS on this machine, I get an immediate crash. If I don't run in verbose mode, I get the apple, then an immediate "prohibited" (slashed circle) symbol. Using verbose mode, I get error messages such as:

"Error allocating 0x146ed pages at 0xxxxxxxx alloc type 2
Couldn't allocate runtime area" - then freezes

Tried all of the OsxAptioFix*Drv combinations recommended in several threads here - no joy. With some I get:
"OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for \System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
Using reloc block: no, hibernatewake: no" - then freezes.

Trying to boot from a fresh UniBeast/10.13.5 install USB drive set up for this (second) machine, I get similar results.

Pics attached.

I can't come up with a reason for this. BIOS settings are the same for both machines (maybe someone has an updated list of working settings for the Z97X series?).
It's failing too soon for it to be an issue with the Intel vs. nVidia graphics, and it also fails when trying to boot from the install USB drive.

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!!

Bump. Anyone have a hint? Thanks.
Use AptioMemoryFix.efi.
make sure that you remove any OsxAptioFixDrv, OsxAptioFix2Drv, OsxAptioFix3Drv or OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.

P1LGRIM - thanks, but it (AptioMemoryFIx.efi - used rev. 22) didn't work on the cloned SSD from the other machine (same result as before). Is there a way to try it on the install flash drive? If so, where should I put it?

Thanks in advance.

You tried it and it didn't work but you don't know where to put it ?

All of the mentioned drivers are in the EFI partition. Mount the EFI folder/partition and go to Clover folder Drivers64EFI folder. That’s where you will remove/trash and or replace the drivers.

That's where I put it in the EFI partition of the SSD that I cloned from my other (working) Hackintosh. No difference from previous results (tried several different combinations of OsxAptio*drv*.efi before without any significant differences. And yes, I removed any other dribers before trying wioth AptioMemoryFix.efi.

My question was regarding the UniBeast flash drive I set up to try to do a fresh install. However, looking through the flash drive again, it seems to not have Clover installed (there's no /rXXXX directory under EFI-Backups; it tried to boot using the Clover installed on the SSD - but interestingly came up with the black theme (which isn't the one I'm using) sop I was fooled.

Will try it again with a new drive and see what happens.

You may have to mount the USB EFI to find clover folder.

If using the IGPU (HD 4600) you will need to set bios IGPU as primary display output and DVMT minimum allocated ram to 64mb.
You may/will need to set clover graphics settings: Inject Intel=true, fake ID 0x04128086, and ig 0x0D220003.

Created a new bootable flash drive with the latest UniBeast, MultiBeast and 10.13.6 (after having upgraded my working Hackintosh to 10.13.6).

Tried booting it from the flash drive as minted - no joy (same as before).
Deleted OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi and copied AptioMemoryFix.efi to the vfat EFI partition's /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI directory.

Still no go. Still get:

<snip>
Error allocating 0x146ed pages at 0xxxxxxxx alloc type 2
Couldn't allocate runtime area

Has to be something else. Will have to go back into BIOS and see if I have one of the settings wrong.

Post your config.plist for USB installer.
