Yes, they work OOB. It is listed in the beginning of the guide in post #1.

Thanks I was just wondering about the PNY Japanese brand. Have sen their name for flash drives, but not video cards

So Im finally making the leap and getting a HP Intel Elite 8300 SFF, and just wanted to check if some of the parts I wanna get are all going to work

I wanna go for this low profile GT 710 video card. I don't need great graphics as Im mainly using it for audio
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AZ7W88O/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

I wanna get up to 32GB RAM, and @trs96 mentioned this which is a good price on Amazon for 2 x 16GB for the 8300
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007CCV1TI/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

Then I found this Wireless/BT card:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012LOT512/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

But are there any other wireless/BT cards that will work, that can get from Amazon. Seems the best place to get items that can get shipped to me.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you use 4 of those G.Skill ram DIMMS you may need to remove a heatsink on one or two of them. The optical drive bay interferes slightly. You might be able to remove the optical drive and make them work.

The Fenvi FV-T919 can likely be shipped to you from China and costs less. Remember to ask them for a low profile bracket or else buy one locally. https://www.ebay.com/p/Fv-t919-Desk...iid=192057361293&_trksid=p2047675.m4097.l9055

The GT 710 looks good.

I am not entirely happy with ASUS USB-BT400 bluetooth adapter. Not always but time to time,Magic mouse gets stuck, doesnt move smooth, Apple wireless keyboard becomes too laggy and its connection keeps dropping and reconnecting, bluetooth speakers requires to be removed and reconnected many times until gets a stable connection. When it works it is brilliant but it is too temperamental.
Is there any way to improve BT with a software trick or do I have to get one of BCM943602CS cards ?

I'm only going to be using 2 x 8GB G.Skill Ram chips. That should work hey? That will get me up to the 32GB Max right?

That eBay, says they currently sold out. Will keep an eye on them. maybe for the beginning will just go ethernet.

Thanks for the help

Hello

I have been holding off on installing the most recent security update because I am never quite sure if the Nvidia web driver will support it. When I signed in this week I most have accidentally hit the update button because my machine was in the process of installing the update. A surprise because that has never happened to me. My machine rebooted but never made it back to the desktop. It remained on the black Apple screen with the status bar at almost 100%. I eventually power cycled the machine and now I have a low resolution sign in screen but I am not able to sign in. After entering my password the small spinning circle under the password box just keeps spinning. Any ideas how I can recover?

Thanks in advance.

Please disregard. I gave it another try and let it run for about 10 minutes attempting to sign in. Got signed in and the video driver updated.

If your HP comes with 2 x 8GB normal profile ram modules yes you can use the G.Skill with those. The timings may not match perfectly but it might work.

That eBay, says they currently sold out. Will keep an eye on them. maybe for the beginning will just go ethernet.
When I check, it shows that they are available.

Are you sure that you don't have "Automatically check for updates" check marked in the App Store section of system prefs ?
You may have to either re-install or go to your clone backup drive. I don't know of any way to "undo" that security update.
