Hi, I have just had a fairly good install of High Sierra on my Gigabit machine. It was a clean install and no major problems but I do have one frustrating problem.

When I shut down the machine using the Apple logo top corner the machine turns back on. If I do a cold shutdown using the button on the case it doesn't.

I have switched off wake from Bluetooth and wake for Wifi Access in OS setting but it is still happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your kind time in reading my question. Really appreciate all that you do at Tonymacx86. Great resource.

Thanks a million @P1LGRIM for the reply. This mention Asus boards but will this work for my Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Motherboard? Thanks again.
No idea. worth a try though.

Many reports confirmed this option to fix shutdown issues with ASUS boards, maybe even with other vendors.
It's a simple tick box in Clover Configurator, try it and see.
If it doesn't work then it's equally simple to revert.

Hi @P1LGRIM,

Thanks for the reply.

Could I check something with you if I may please? Apologies if this seems like a very daft or obvious question.

I did the High Sierra install using Multibeast and it installed Clover 4458 which to load the website.

I have downloaded Clover to my machine from the clover site and it is a newer version. Can I use that to make the changes or does it need to be Version 4458 like the clover used as the loader? Or can I use the newer version to make the necessary changes and it will change the settings on the machine.

Multibeast helped get the audio working and I am just wondering if I use clover will it overwrite or erase what Multibeast has done?

Thank you so much for your time and knowledge - it is very much appreciated. Have a lovely evening.

Yes you may use a newer Clover but the "changes" are to your config.plist.

No.
