Hi all, I've "cloned' @erik's base config :

ASRock Z370M-ITX/ac
Core i5-8400
16GB G-Skill RipJaws V PC4-2400 CL15-16-16-35
Samsung Evo 860 250GB (macOS), 970 EVO 250GB (Win10, not yet connected)

At the moment I haven't used a discrete GPU, I wanted to tinker first with the integrated HD 630.

I'm almost new at the Hackintosh world, I built a hackintosh years ago but I'm a little lost now. I didn't understand your install instructions and I thought MultiBeast should be used for post install. I had no sound (no WiFi/BT either, but didn't change the WiFi chipset so that's normal) but I had network connection and USB ports were working.

I tried to apply multibeast and selected a few modules:

Quickstart
UEFI Boot Module

Drivers
Audio - ALC892
Disk - None
Misc - FakeSMC
Network - None
USB - USBInjectAll

Bootloaders
Clover UEFI Boot Mode

Customize
Graphics Configuration - Intel HD 6xx
SSDT Options - None
System Definitions - iMac 18,3

This has been a bad decision. Now I haven't got sound, none of the USB ports is working and the screen is flickering a lot (Dell UP2715K here, so 5K available with a discrete GPU but only 4K with the 630 graphics, good for me at the moment).

I wonder if I should reinstall everything again and don't run MultiBeast. Tips to solve these issues?

Thanks!

Thanks for the guild. I have exact the same build except I have an 1070. Everything work well when I installed 10.13.3 originally, even HDMI audio works. However after 10.13.6, I can not use the front usb, the onboard usb ports at the back still work fine. Any suggestion? thx in advance.

I wonder if reinstalling everything with 10.13.3 would solve my problems, I have installed everything again with a GTX 1070 myself. Screen is at 1280x1024 (argh) on my 5K monitor, no sound, at least I have ethernet and front USB ports work.

did you installed the lastest Nvidia Web Driver? I didn't had a problem with 1070 in either version. Only front USB, evernthing else works fine, even though I didn't test bluetooth device, but it scans fine at least.

hey guys how's it going?
This is my 2nd hackintosh attempt 1st one was a fail and I gave up on it but now I really want to be able to have a working hackintosh
So i bought all the same hardware as eriks. Now from my understanding, Erik, you installed High Sierra on an external drive and then you connect that drive to the Hackintosh and cloned it to the M2 drive?

I am really new at this so I don't really understand the steps so well.

Thank you Erik and everybody else on this thread.

I installed directly to my m.2 drive, no problem.

Right but he said that he installed the os on a external drive then he installed clover in that drive with all the drivers and kexts the. He connect that external drive to the hackintosh, booted off of it and it ran perfectly then he cloned the external drive to the internal drive.

Everything that matters for me (BT/WiFi isn't, but Ethernet is all I needed) is working well right now. I reinstalled everything from the very beginning with the GTX 1070 connected and after trying a few things (not exactly sure now what I did, ha!) I've got my Hackintosh build running at 5K with DP video/audio working flawlessly. Awesome!

Anybody here installed everything the same exact way Erik did? I need help understand how he did it like installing Clover and the kexts without using UniBeast

Thank you.
