Here's the fix for USB 2.0.

Load your EFI > open config.plist > Kernel and Kext Patches > Make sure you are on KextsToPatch > bottom portion has a tab "List of Patches" > Click it and select "Disable Intel, Fresco Logic USB 3.0 controllers check, 10.10.* (credit Zenith432)

You should have all of your USB 2.0 ports working.

The patch above might be preventing me from testing USB 3.0. I'll be honest guys, it's getting super hard to figure this out. I would advise to update to High Sierra and try again one of those YouTube videos you shared. Seems like a lot of people are able to fix on that OS version. I have to hold off my upgrade since I lost access to shared ableton live account and it will kick me out if I upgrade. I really can't afford to loose it right now. Please share any thoughts you have, if you get lucky with USB 3.0 make sure to let us all know. I'll be checking this posting from time to time and update with any new info I have. Cheers!

good to see that this thread is still alive! :)
I hope to have the courage to upgrade to High Sierra sometime in the near future. I'll share whatever new that may come up during the process.

hey Guys, I'm on High Sierra with working 980ti but USB 3.0 are not working. and also shutdown reboots instead of shutting down.

@osx9010, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard, CPU and iGPU or Graphics Card.
If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard (Mobo).
The Rules said:
Profiles need to contain at least your primary system to assist others with helping you.

Thanks. it has been updated.

I just wanted to say a big thank you dnovosad!

I've been using my Yosemite Hackintosh happily for the last 3 years, and didn't want to upgrade unless it was absolutely necessary!

Well I bought an Acer XR382CQK monitor and noticed that my GTX 780ti just wasn't cutting it anymore. So I upgraded to a GTX 1070, (stupidly) without checking if it was compatible on Yosemite, and of course I found out that it wasn't. I'd already upgraded to Sierra on my 2012 MacBook Pro, so it was probably about time that I did the same with the Hackintosh, as a lot of software is dropping Yosemite support anyway.

When I came across your guide for the same motherboard as mine (Sabertooth X79), I was so happy!
Following the guide was easy, and migrating from Chimera to Clover was actually a lot easier than expected!

A few things I wanted to add to your guide:

USB 3.0 support: I noticed right after the sierra install, before installing any Multibeast drivers, that the USB3.0 worked already, without doing anything, and that it was only after installing the 3rd Party USB 3.0 GenericUSBXHCI.kext that the USB3.0 stopped working. So it might be worth checking if you have that installed and then remove it.
I'm running 10.12.6, and Unibeast 7.1.1 so I don't know if there was a change in there that fixed the USB3.0 support, but it worked for me right out of the box.

Audio support: This one was really annoying to get working, but I got there in the end.
First, start out with a fresh AppleHDA.kext, and don't install anything with Multibeast, remove anything if you already have installed drivers. then you need to download SSDT-HDEF+-1.aml from here

Then you need to follow the AppleHDA Realtek Audio Methods - Required: a. native AppleHDA.kext, b. EFI mounted

1. cloverALC (c. SIP disabled, d. Clover and e. network required)
Download/View Raw: audio_cloverALC.command.zip

Options I chose in the CloverALC:

Confirm Realtek ALC892: Y
Clover Audio ID Injection: Y
Use Audio ID: 1: Y (because the motherboard has 6 audio ports)
Motherboard (300/200/X299/X99/Other = n) : N (because it is X79)

I then restarted and it all worked fine!

Also, if you have a GTX 1070, or any 1000 series for that matter, when installing FakeSMC, make sure you delete the file FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext from the system/library/extensions, otherwise you will get a Kernal Panic, because Pascal GPUs aren't supported.

Only other problems I had was having to convert my Windows 10 partition from MBR to GPT, which I used WinPE and MBR2GPT to convert it, as I was using Legacy before so it was compatible with Chimera Bootloader. And now it's showing 4 different windows partitions in the Clover Boot menu, and I haven't figured out how to remove them yet! EDIT: deselected Legacy from the GUI settings in Clover Configurator and it worked.

I'm also trying to change the Clover boot menu resolution, as it's all stretched on my Ultrawide monitor, but this isn't a biggie!

@ProjectIcarus Thanks so much for posting this. I am going to run through your setup because I just installed NVMe EVO 970 and lost USB again. I have Windows on 970 but I think the PIC-E converter threw the settings off on OSX. It is always something. But thanks so much this looks promising I will report sometime later. Skoal Sabertoothers ;)

Thanks for your input. I'm trying to follow your guide for the audio and had some questions.
So the steps would be

1. revert to AppleHDA.kext
2. install the SSDT-HDEF+-1.aml
3. run audio_cloverALC-130_v0.5.command

Is that right?

thanks!

Hey guys, I am not sure why but my usb 3.0 don't work and I am pretty sure GenericUSBXHCI isn't around. I must be doing something wrong or I have something in Clover that prevents the ports to work. I am going to remove some of the patches I have in there and give it a try again next weekend. Haven't tested the audio since I have USB audio card so I am good in that department. BUT, something strange has happened this morning and again I am puzzled as to what it is. The AppleACPICPU timeout. I couldn't load to OSX no matter what I tried. I even used USB that I installed OSX originally from. The solution is, obviously, in the clover bootloader options. There's a setting kernel/kext patches gotta select AppleIntelCPUPM (AppleACPICPU don't know the exact name). It loaded after. I patched it in the config.plist as well, saved and I am booting ok. Not sure why all of the sudden I couldn't. Some weird stuff here on my end haha. Alright till next week with the USBs ;)
