Problem is that those have too much travel. You had to push in Apple's original buttons really hard to make them click. Secondly since they don't have the same measurements it's harder to place them correctly.

I'm not an electrical engineer, but I did stumble upon this video that might help. The guy in the video seems very thorough.

It looks like you can get away with just connecting two terminals.


Just a thought, what if you glued a tiny spacer to the rear of the original apple button or even used a Dremel to remove the excess plastic on the long switch?

I, too, have a G4 Sawtooth that I've had since Mose was a child. I even mod'd it with a 1.2GHz G4 processor which you could buy over the counter. However, it's time to make it into a hackintosh.

Your Z370-G is a mATX size motherboard. Give your build, would you still recommend a mATX size motherboard or an ITX size for easier installation. I'll probably go with one of my older mATX motherboards in order to add a graphics card and a Firewire card.

I still recommend the mATX. It provides enough expansion and fits quite comfortable in a G4 case. I have three SSD's, the Nvidia 1060, the cooler and it all fits nice.

Nice build @Pepo31, I've started lurking again as planning a new build this year, this time I might actually pull off the water cooling. I've got another donor G4 Quicksilver ready but I've also have a Digital Audio which I'm considering to use.

Out the bottom. Extreme temperatures were not much of a concern to me. I'm not much of a gamer, I just love macs and wanted to do this build and keep it as original as possible.

Out the bottom I think makes sense, more sense for sure than pumping hot air in, strait into the graphics card. Although depending on your fan speed you might still be "starving" your graphics card a little, but probably it's no big deal. What is the distance between your radiator and the graphics card cooler when the case is closed? (just asking because for my personal curiosity).
