Hi there,

I followed all Rehabman's guide in High Sierra Laptop Support section. My hackintosh now run good (as my perspective).
I realize that my hackintosh run with quite high CPU temp. I'm running 2 tabs chrome with no video playing, so CPU temp is runnin around ˜49-51 degree. Idle is around 45-47 degree.

and here is AppleIntelInfo kext output:

I'm curious is that temp normal?? Am I wrong somewhere in follow Rehabman's guide?? I just find that some of my friends has a hackintosh with only 31˜33 degree CPU temp. Is there any way to decrease my CPU temp to have better experience on typing?

Here is debug.
Thanks in advanced.

Hi ! my temp are about the same.. I replaced the thermal paste from my laptop because the temp was pretty high before.. About 100 C while burning test with prime 95 and the test never went too far.. Now it's about under 50 in idle and around 90-95 C max under stress test with prime 95 (in normal usage, the temp never goes as high as under prime95..).. It could be around 40 C after sleep..
I think for a laptop it's normal.. ;)

If that first picture was "before" removal of the paste, it's probably why the temps were so bad. Too much thermal paste is just as bad or worse than too little. That application was about three times as much as recommended. All that is needed is a very thin layer that covers all of the IHS.

Why the temp is so bad? Max CPU's temp on Hackintosh I know is around 70 C, according to my friend's hackintosh laptop. U need consider if you wrong in patching DSDT, I think

I agree.. :) this is what they did in the factory.. photo before cleaning and after.. Everyone should reapply thermal paste because they messed up in the factory.. lol From factory, the idle temp was around 60 C now I'm under 50 C.. Under prime 95, before it couldn't keep working at 100% and reach the max turbo boost, now it does :)

try prime 95 and you will see the result.. Prime 95 is stressing your cpu like no other program can do.. You are going to be surprised by the temp your computer will reach.. ;)
What is your prog to read the temp?

Disabling the DGPU may help with heat issues:

You need also to think about the size of your friend's laptop.. If it's a 15' it's normal that he has better temp than a 13'..
Mine is a XPS 13 .. the same size as a MacBook Air 11'(very low profile)..

I disabled dGPU already. In system infomation, there's no more GPU, but HD 4400 with full QE/CI
which program do you use to get the temps please? and how did you get them? I'm using the Intel one.
