The 10.13.X clover pack from Darkvoid has an issue where the keyboard doesn't work at bootup on uhd touchscreen systems (but brightness keys and volume do). You have to put the machine to sleep or use an external keyboard and then it works fine. Touching the Screen during bootup seems to fix this sometimes but it is still super annoying. Its an issue on the github repo, but didn't know if Rehabman had any suggestions or if i should try the voodoops2 debug kext and post output.

Did you put them in /system/Library/Extensions?
I installed them to /Library/Extensions as I thought I read that for 10.11 onwards that was the preferred location.

I have noticed this too, but not always.

If I hit space and select verbose mode then arrow up to boot with selected at the Clover screen it also works correctly.

Also, if I boot with my USB ethernet adapter connected, I need to unplug and replug the adapter before it connects to the internet.

I have the non-touch XPS and also have this issue occurring to me now and then. It's not super annoying since you can easily get it fixed by putting the device to sleep, but would be nice if it never happens.

Installed all the kexts to /L/E (via terminal) and rebuilt kextcache (sudo kextcache -i /).

I'm still running hot.

Remember, hot is quite subjective. It *is* June after all, and a delta of 5C indoors has an incremental effect on laptops, particularly Dell's cooling methods (the older BIOSes suffered from an excessive fan speed, which apparently has been rectified in newer versions).

Let's do this scientifically. Can you post any idle temperature screenshots (macOS vs Windows), also a p-state dump would be good.

Pretty sure something isn't right....

Unfortunately, I deleted Windows when I formatted the drive to 4k sector size.

Your CPU looks like it is floored. Does it ever go under 3ghz? I can see you have several chrome tabs open.. but it looks like it had been that freq for a bit.. Try closing everything and seeing if speedstep works and if the freq comes down.

Yes it does. The attached screenshot is with all apps closed over a couple of minutes.

And the frequency goes down during the geekbench test.
