Rosewill RNX-AC1900PCE as an example. But really any wifi that would work that supports 802.11ac, isn't super slow, and doesn't cost crazy ass $$$

That should work in an SFF 8300 if you get a low profile bracket with it. The ones with separate cards also have built in BT so many will opt for those instead of a BT dongle with poor range and function.

That wifi card you linked is Windows only. The one in the B.G. is the RNX-AC1900PCE they are completely different cards.
Here's an example of a low profile bracket

If you want wireless AC wifi in a CustoMac you'll need to spend at least 50 USD. You can also build your own from parts bought on Ebay but it doesn't add up to much savings and you have to assemble it yourself.

I'd be very curious about this too. I have not risked it yet, but running 13.5 on some of my real Macs for some time in beta and it's been pretty solid, but not on any Hackintoshes.

One thing I'm curious about is are there any options for running a snapshot management mechanism like Acronis True Image that work well on a Hackintosh installation. Any luck with such a beast that would offer some safety nets for beta testing or even just simply testing updates while knowing you can back off?

EDIT: I guess we can just use APFS snapshots directly now for those of us who are using APFS.

I'm good with spending 50 or so, the "Deal of the Day" thread on the 8300 to me read like options were either wifi via USB 2.0 plugin (ugh) or $149 for custom PCI thing + having to go buy the Apple card.

This to me looks like it comes with a low profile bracket - at least, picture doesn't show a lot of extra metal on the bracket.

I believe Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper are what you are looking for, but I’ll defer to someone more familiar with Acronis True Image.

As I edited it above, I believe the most efficient route now is to convert to APFS and to use APFS snapshots directly. CCC also supposedly now supports APFS snapshots: https://bombich.com/kb/ccc5/leveraging-snapshots-on-apfs-volumes

It looks like "Bad OS Update" is not ticked in his checklist there, but I've read elsewhere that APFS snapshots CAN be used to back off bad OS updates, but perhaps it would take mounting the drive in another system that has APFS access in order to do this reversion operation.

Hey guys! I have an HP 8300 SFF. Is there a chance to add an extra fan to blow out hot air coming from my MSI 1050 Ti low profile? It gets to 80C with closed case when i play AAA games, and 70C with the case opened. Thanks in advance

How were the temperatures before the use of the MSI 1050 TI ?
Maybe you have first to consider changing the thermal paste between CPU and radiator

Thanks for your reply! Well I installed a brand new GPU (MSI 1050 Ti) right after i bought this PC and I didn't have any GPU before that. I'm not that confident in my skills to change the thermal paste on a brand new GPU, don't want to ruin it. I heard that 80C is ok, my i5 3470 gets to 60C maximum. With opened case my GPU won't go above 70C and CPU temp stays the same. Maybe I should leave the case opened when playing games?
