Hello,

My desktop running high sierra had a software update last night, and after coming back to it today it no longer boots. It always gets stuck on "apfs_vfsop_unmount:1822: all done. going home.", which is only seen with -v on. In normal boot, the bar will continue to fill until it reaches the top at which point it stops and nothing happens. Safe mode is the same error, as seen in the picture. I can still boot recovery, but first aid always fails as well as trying to create an image from any of the files on my ssd.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The KP appears to be because you used a MacPro system definition but neglected to deal with the AppleTyMCEDriver.kext.

Try to boot with -nehalem_error_disable.

Tried booting with -nehalem_error_disable in both safe and non safe mode, getting the same error both times

Have you tried nv_disable=1 ?

Got the exact same error with nv_disable=1
That's just the thing, there don't seem to be any show stopping errors there.
Can you boot from a USB installer or from the Recovery partition ?

I can boot from the recovery drive, but whenever I try to do first aid or anything on the drive it says “operation failed error -61” or something along those lines. Even when attempting to repair volumes from terminal I get an error on just my main OS X volume

Is the drive formatted APFS ?
And if so, do you have an up to date apfs.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/Drivers64UEFI/ ?

The drive is formatted as APFS, but it does have a windows install also on it which could be causing a problem. When I ran first aid from recovery just now, it’s telling me I need to unmount it and then try again or boot from recovery (which I’m in right now) so I unmount and still get the error. And as for the drivers I haven’t updated them since I installed which was around 1 month ago
