So now the only thing to fix is the second monitor. any ideas here?
One thing you might want to try out is using a Displayport to HDMI adapter if HDMI is the only way to connect your second screen.
I had a similar issue with a quite old monitor connected via DVI. After using a Displayport to DVI adapter my 2 monitor setup works without problems on my 1060.

might this be a solution without enabling CSM? or can this kill my config. (I'm happy that almost everything works right now and afraid of bricking it)

sorry for the noob questions. and thanks for your afford. I can understand that it's annoying answering the same questions over and over again. But for a noob it's a bit overwhelming to overview 808 pages long threads

@ kubusikan yes, that helps! however I have a new problem now.
-Monitor 1 connected with Displayport->Displayport alone --> Works when booting
-Monitor 1 connetec dp->dp/Monitor 2 connected HMDI->HDMI works when HDMI is connected after boot
-Monitor 1 connected with dp->hdmi/Monitor 2 connected with HDMI->HDMI works when booting, however Monitor 1 has the wrong resolution (both have 2560x1080). now on Monitor one I can't choose that resolution (even with Command+scale to view more resolutions.

does anyone have an idea where the problem could be there?

no idea... try it ;)

doesn't work, also found this here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-monitor-connected.223082/page-3#post-1734325 doesn't work for me neither.
CSM option isn't there with MSI board. I had to disable "Windows 10 WHQL Support". now the bios resolution is ugly but booting MacOS with both monitors attached (DP->DP and HDMI->HDMI) works without problem :)
Thanks for your help and again for your great tutorial.

The EFI I attached for Xevin with adopt of VoodooTSCSync.kext for his 7980XE as 18 core
With your i9-7900X 10 core, try this ones,
Hi IgnitePro !

Thank you, but I already did it (I put the correct voodooTSCSync for 10 cores, get rid of Lilu and NvidiaGraphicsFixup kexts) before I asked for help.
Nevertheless, I tried your EFI (just in case there's something more somewhere else) and... still stuck at the same place :(

You missed some Kext files for your 7980XE,
Try to re-place with this ones, you should be at least get your OS installed
Good luck

I tried the EFI folder you sent and still no luck. The boot gets halted in the same location.

@Xevin , @fickerr , @framandyard ,

what about using my EFI + adopted TSCResetAdjust.kext or VoodooTSCSync.kext?

If that does not work, you have to improve your BIOS settings.

Good luck!

P.S.: @fickerr, please provide your system specs (mobo, CPU, GPU) in either your profile or signature! Getting tired of permanently remembering you guys about the board rules and basic info required for participating in this tread.

I searched through the entire guide and could find no reference to "VoodooTSCSync.kext" or "TSCResetAdjust.kext" I'm not sure what it is or how to modify it. Is this part of another guide that I should be following too? Sorry I'm a complete noob in this area and thank you again for the help.

Looks like you and I are in the same boat!

What about Section C.7)?

No problem if you are a noob.. but at least you should be able to read... ;)

Safari also has a text search tool called „find“

OH! Found it. You wrote "TSCResetAdjust.kext" When you meant "TSCAdjustReset.kext"! I'm working through that section now. I will report back soon. Thanks KGP.

No joy. I followed the guide at C.7 and still it wont progress past the same point. I'm going to attempt to go over the BIOS settings just to be sure I didn't miss anything like you suggested KGP.

I have attached the current EFI folder I'm working with:
