I'd like to write down about my experience with the motherboard claimed in the topic and Snow Leopard 10.6.3 updated to 10.6.8. Using iBoot + Multibeast (thanks to Tony and other Great guys who provided codes, support, etc. Thank you very much, great work!).
I'll try to write it step by step:
0. I've got DSDT.aml in Windows, using Everest
1. Changed bios parameters (AHCI and 64-bit),
2. Boot from iBoot.
3. Installed Mac OS X from 10.6.3 Retail
During the installation process progress bar may "hang up". In my situation screen appeared to be frozen, but l noticed a HDD led blinking so the process was moving on. Just wait until the system automatically reboots or HDD led stops blinking for few minuets (then reboot manually using reset or power button). Boot from iBoot again. And hooray! I was looking at the "bienvenido" video. Then I went through the standard registration process. System started.
4. I started DSDT autopatcer, and made a DSDT.aml using one I've got from everest (you have to rename last one)
5. Started Multibeast and checked the following:
- user dsdt
JMicron SATA
VoodooHDA
FakeSMC (motherboard plugins and nvidia plugin)
IOPCIFamili Fix
NullCPUPowerManagement
Voodoo PS/2 Controller
and system utilities (both)
And here I've got troubles. VoodooHDA from Multibeast didn't want to work porperly, panic. But I found a solution for this. Just boot with -x parameter, loaded VoodooHDA 2.7.2 Installer Package for 10.5/10.6 from google code http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/, reinstalled and all went fine with it.
Still hibernation was not working so I googled a little more and found a solution in google code again! Thank you, guys, who worked on it! Here is the link: http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enabler/. SleepEnabler for 10.6.x / 10.7.0 worked just fine!
Video card was recognized properly (thanks to Multibeast I guess). Video resolution is ok, can be chosen in preferences.
I haven't tested gigabyte sata, intel is enough for me.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm not a pro, just learning, so sorry if anything is wrong.
P.S. Perhaps you don't need to use everest to get dsdt, autopatcher may be enough.
I still got one memory recognized as 512MB, and my dual-core overvoltaged. Considering to change DSDT manually. And I'm not so happy for voodoohda sound quality. If anybody has any solutions or corrections I'm waiting for your advice. Thanks!
