I can delete this if this isn't the right place to post.

I went back to High Sierra and things are working pretty well. I ran into a problem where I can't play iTunes-DRM videos either on my laptop's screen or an external monitor. I've seen various posts about it, but none that instill confidence. I don't have many videos downloaded from iTunes so it isn't a major problem, but I have enough that a fix would be nice. Neither, iTunes nor QT will play them. They just give the HDCP error.

Has anyone implemented a successful fix for this on the XPS13?

Look into Shiki.kext.

Look into Shiki.kext.

I did. While it does "de-scramble" the data stream, it doesn't prevent an error from popping up and stopping playback. I can play about 15 seconds of video before it stops, goes to a black screen, and then the error window pops up with the HDCP error. Before loading shiki, I'd get 15 seconds of green and black garble, then it would go to black, and then the error window pops up.

Did you experiment with the various Shiki supported kernel flags?

Any recs on which one(s) to try? I didn't see any that looked relevant, but I admit this is not my area of expertise.

I don't use Shiki.kext (don't care about DRM content).
You should read the Shiki.kext documentation.

Has anyone tried the security update for High Sierra? The main thread seems like it isn't problematic for most people, but I wondered if that was true for anyone running 10.13.4 on the XPS13.

For those of you using the excellent VoodooI2C kext but have experienced frustration at the over-sensitivity of the touchpad, alexandre's latest git commits fix most of the issues. You'll need to build the binaries yourselves as they're not yet readily available, and **spoiler alert** the amount of third-party dependencies you need to install to get this to compile is astounding, but it's very much worth it in the end.

On a related note, if someone has played about with the settings and found optimal settings with this touchpad (esp. palm detect, driving me nuts) please get in touch.
