[Guide] Lenovo ThinkPad L440

Status
Not open for further replies.
I have updated with new problem reporting files as attached

this time I moved kext back to /Library/Extensions.

same problem. audio not working and gfx is still glitching
did try without Shiki.kext (removed, sudo kextcache -I / and reboot, no diff gfx still glitching, added them back afterwards)
did ec restart

Did you try with AptioMemoryFix.efi? (as per guide, it is preferred over OsxAptioFix*.efi).
Your kextcache still shows Shiki.kext installed.

ioreg seems to be missing from your pr files.

You really only have one RAM stick installed?

Is CSM/legacy boot enabled in BIOS?
Fast boot disabled?

yes only one ram 1x 8gb on it.

Interesting note, audio is working if i were to enable the three kext applehda to be patched. (it was disabled from the threadstarter config.plist).

Actually i was previously using his previous sierra guide at https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-lenovo-thinkpad-l440-v3-0.217119/ before upgraded to this. Everything was working fine, i was even able to play a shooter game with no gfx glictch and with audio. Nothing from the bios was changed.

uploaded my bios setting..

Tried with boot mode = quick and diagnostics, both gave the same result

macOS tends to like dual-channel...
Not sure if that is the issue, but something you could try.

as stated on my previous post. It was working fine for sierra. gfx is alright, audio is alright. why the sudden need to add in ram?

Everything always changing in each version.
You might try different ig-platform-id too.

Here are the files attached.

Delete ALC292.kext ; delete your config.plist & delete everything on EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched.

Add this attached config.plist ; add this SSDT-L440.aml & SSDT-Disable_EHCI.aml that i attached, install this ALC3232.kext which is my new one but i can't find the time to update the guide.

You must use Rehabman fork of clover bootloader for my files to work.
here is the link: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/clover/downloads/

Reboot and see if new files work.

Enjoy !
ok I tried again this time using this.
I used the new SSDT-L440.aml & SSDT-Disable_EHCI.aml, and config.plist.
I removed alc292 clear cache, and then install alc3232 and clear cache.

1. It fixed my gfx problem, I no longer have gfx issue
2. two problem came out
2.1 Audio, there is no more audio
2.2 fn f5 and fn 6 (brightness up and down) is not working at all, totally no effect after pressing those button

attached my error report

what is ig platform id?

It is usually set with config.plist/Graphics/ig-platform-id (but can be injected with other methods too).
It determines graphics framebuffer configuration for Intel HD graphics (since Ivy Bridge).
