Solving NVIDIA Driver Install & Loading Problems

I am having a problem getting the system to recognize my 1080ti.. downloaded the newest drivers, but they don't seem to be working. My about Mac screen says Graphics: Display 7mb.. I made the changes in clover to boot web drivers and not VGA, I am also pretty new at all of this. Any ideas?

I've been wrestling with the nVidia drivers ever since the upgrade to High Sierra. I initially had a GTX 960 installed with my Z170 rig. I had it finally up and running with earlier versions of HS, but 10.13.3 and 10.13.4 botched it. Having upgraded to a GTX 1070, I put the 960 in my Z68 system and was surprised at how painless it was to get it up and running. It's a legacy BIOS installation, not using UEFI, so I though for sure there would be headaches.

I got frustrated enough with the Z170 rig that I opted to reinstall HS on an alternate SSD. I started running into the same issues of the nVidia drivers not loading properly. The 14,2 system ID is supposed to play nicely with the nVidia drivers. On a lark, I switched the ID to 12,2 in Clover (Configurator) and the next boot loaded the nVidia drivers right up without an issue. I understand that certain features, like Night Shift, are not supposed to work with that ID, but at least I'm getting a fluid boot and full graphics acceleration. Since it's a fresh install, I will have to try some of the more recent IDs to see if I can get a similarly fluid boot up. For whatever reason, 14,2 just hasn't been a good fit for the nVidia setup on my end. Might be worth a shot.

I was on a Mac Pro id, but I did try this with no luck unfortunately.

Dumb question, but if I just said screw it, I will use intergrated graphics, is it as simple as just connecting HDMI to my MOBO video output?

hi, I'm trying everything to solve this problem, web drivers ... but all the methods I've tried do not go.
could someone give me? because soon I have to work for videos and I need everything ready.
I leave you attached images, in which you can see that only sees 3mb of the video card, and that I can not set in any way the web drivers. the driver are updated at latest version.

my graphics card is: Palit 1070ti
please someone help me! I do not know what to do.
Thank you!

Doesn’t look like the drivers are loading. Which driver is selected in the Driver Manager?

Problem 4: Black screen when using iMac15,1 or iMac17,1 or MacPro 6,1 system definition

Fix: modify the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext as pointed out by PikeRAlpha here. We have two options, using Clover's built in kext patching (preferred) or manually editing the kext. Using Clover to patch the kext on the fly is preferred because it does not get over written after each OS X update. If you do it manually you will have to make the edits after each update.

Method 1: The easy method

Use KextBeast to install these two kext Lilu.kext and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext into your Library/Extensions folder.

How do I install NvidiaGraphicsFixup? There isn't a .kext file in the download package. KextBeast won't install it! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will find the fixup in multibeast!!

I have problem six and I went through all of the steps and they did not work. So I went and did them again but installed the RC scripts too, and I still can not get it to work, could someone please help me?

Ok, The article links to Sourceforge, Which links to Git Hub, where a .kext file is non-existent. The article should be updated for this new information. THANKS!

Next Hackintosh step... An SSD (I am currently using magnetic media)
you are damn right why it is not updated?
