I've been using this setup for over 2 years running Windows. I'd like to dualboot MacOS High Sierra on it, but first, I need your help.
Please tell me if my setup could be Hackintosh-compatible:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE H97-HD3

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 (3.4 GHz)

GPU :
MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G, 4 Go

RAM :
DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X 2 x 4 Go, 1600 MHz, CAS 9

Hard Disk :
Seagate Barracuda, 1 To

Wi-Fi :
TP-Link TL-WN951N

I want to get an SSD in order to install Windows on it ( I still need a lot windows ) and an other HDD for Mac OS.
Also, I don't have any idea about what SSD I should buy, so tell me if u knows please ;)

Thanks a lot!

Not sure about your WiFi, but the rest should be compatible with MacOS High Sierra.

The wifi card may work it was reported working in Mavericks but it needed kext patches so its not a beginner type setup. I have a few Tp link N900 pcie wifi cards that don't need any fixes and they work natively in Windows and macOS. I also have a TP Link AC1300 which works native in OS but needed drivers for Windows but it works great for both with AC dual band power.

It may be easier to keep your Windows on the HDD and try the SSD for macOS. I have used numerous brands of SSDs and they have all worked in macOS. I recently bought 2 120gb Inland Professional SSDs for $30 US each at Micro Center they are the most affordable drives I've ever seen. SanDisk is a good value to quality brand, Kingston, Crucial, Toshiba, Plextor (low price), and of course the best but you pay for it Samsung. All of these have worked for me with no major issues.

IF your windows is setup in Legacy mode make sure to choose Legacy mode for your macOS setup and use the 64drivers package and make sure to choose the grub drivers. It is probably in Legacy mode so stay away from UEFi mode when creating your macOS install. This way your bios settings will match.

Thank you for all the details !

Firstly, I just want to test if hackintosh is working fine and if it fits to my needs.
But I still need windows a lot.

1 hour ago I bought the Crucial MX500 SSD ( 250gb ) and I want to set up my Windows on it. So I’ll just divide my current HDD for the test.

I will follow your advices about the WIFI card and the setup for Legacy mode as well even if I don’t know how to check the mode of my Windows.

Thanks again !
