Hi there

Mobo: Gigabyte Z370 HD3P
CPU: i7-8700k
GPU: EVGA GTX 780 SC

I'm following this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...e-z370-hd3p-i5-8600k-geforce-gtx-1050.243017/

My bios settings are as recommended BIOS:
  1. Save & Exit → Load Optimized Defaults
  2. BIOS → Fast Boot : Disabled
  3. BIOS → LAN PXE Boot Option ROM : Disabled
  4. BIOS → Storage Boot Option Control : UEFI
  5. Peripherals → Super IO Configuration → Serial Port : Disabled
  6. Peripherals → USB Configuration → XHCI Hand-off : Enabled
  7. Chipset → Vt-d : Disabled
I go into clover, and boot from the installation USB and get to this point and the pc shuts off, then resets.

Any ideas?

Perfect, thank you. That worked, now at the apple logo the bar goes to about 5/8 then stops.
Here is the verbose issue:

A bit hard to read, but I'll type it out:
iMac.local com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.WindowServer.598) <Warning>: Service exited with abnormal code: 1
iMac.local com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.WindowServer) <Notice>: Service only ran for 0 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds

It just keeps refreshing with a new time with only those two messages.

I read on ****** that it may be because igpu and gpu are both being detected, I have disabled the igpu in bios, but still the same issue

BIOS Detects both but CLOVER cannot load NVIDIA WebDriver which is yet to be installed :"the Chicken or Egg first Problem"
Only real solution:
  • Go back to BIOS by Force reboot
  • Set BIOS for IGFX (IGP) to use Intel HD Graphics 630 using DVMT -Pre Allocated Memory of 120M (to be set in BIOS)
  • Save the Setting
  • Reboot
  • Monitor Screen shows "No Signal" or "No Display"
  • Shut Down
  • Pull Power Cord from its socket at the back of PSU
  • Press On/OFF switch a few times to Discharge any Residual Current on the Board
  • Remove Video Cable from the Digital port of Nvidia PCIE card and connect to the same port of Integrated Video Card.
  • Carefully remove PCIE Power Plug(s) from the NVIDIA PCIE Graphics Card
  • Remove carefully the PCIE card and set it safely for reinsertion after full installation of macOS HS on the System Hard disk targeted for partition and Format with your HS USB Installer Disk.
  • Check inside the case to be sure nothing else is out of its place during your procedure.
  • Reconnect Power plug to socket of PSU
  • Power ON and Reboot
  • Re-enter BIOS to check all your Previous settings for Graphics remain unchanged and your USB Installer Disk is in First boot and all other Devices in Boot Option Priorities are DISABLED
  • F-10 to Save and reboot
  • Since you have not edited the CLOVER and its config.plist , use the Clover Boot Manager (CBM) Screen >Options to temporarily edit ( this must be done during each reboot until Full Installation)
    • Boot Args: -v dart=0 -disablegfxfirmware
    • GraphicsInjector->
      • [√]InjectIntel
      • FakeID=59128086
      • *-platform-id=59120000
    • Return to CBM and then boot your USB Installer
    • Upload verbose image of any Problem boot screens.

Would it be easier to install macOS with the integrated gpu, with the GPU detached, then install the drivers and kexts, then reinstall the gpu?
If not, I will try your method. I just have to RMA my mobo because the hdmi port doesn't work and showing a black screen. I will update my progress as soon as I get the new mobo

  • If you are getting a new MoBO that is how you do.
  • My instructions for your earlier post were for a setup with NVIDIA already inserted in the PCIE slot and Monitor connected to it and BIOS already setup to use it but fails because of lack of NvidiaWeb drivers.
For a New MoBo:
  • Don't insert the PCIE NVIDIA. Change BIOS to use Intel HD Graphics and the rest of the required BIOS setup for macOS USB installer boot .
  • Once you have the system fully setup and updated to the current still using Intel HD, you can download and Install Nvidia Drivers and edit CLOVER/kexts/Other with required NvidiaGraphics & Lilu for the Nvidia and same installed in Library/Extensions using Kext Wizard, edit config.plist to remove [√] InjectIntel and then during reboot change BIOS to use Nvidia and Disable previously used Intel Processor Graphic options and set to boot the System HDD as First Boot Device and save the settings and reboot>Shut Down and Insert Nvidia and set it up with required PCIE Power and connect the Video Cable to PCIE Graphics Digital port and reinsert removed Power cable and reboot to use the System on Nvidia Graphics now that you have edited CLOVER and config.plist for that.

Okay, so I installed macOS successfully, installed Nvidia drivers and Lilu.
Multibeast kept failing to Build, I said I'd restart and see if it'd work then I'd post the log, now the OS won't boot.

is the +++ the same issue I was having before?
Reaches apple logo, then reboots
Is it because the HSIplus.efi was on the USB, and now it's not installed?
or is this a different issue?

  • If Multibeast had failed to build, it means your System HDD lacks the drivers to boot or something has happened to Clover or other files from Multibeast during the installation on to the hard disk.
  • Did you remove the USB installer as soon as you finished with Multibeast(that failed to build) or did you reboot with the USB installer disk?
  • Not using Verbose boot until one gets a fully functioning System, in my personal opinion, is a BIG MISTAKE . I know it is not emphasized in the GUIDE.
    • Gui boot with Apple Logo helps no one.
    • Only a Verbose boot screen is of any diagnostic help.
  • Booting using the USB installer and switching to HDD from CBM and hoping to reach Desktop to reinstall CLOVER and Kexts manually is what I can suggest at this juncture, with the incomplete information you have provided.

I copied a picture of the verbose, unless it's not visible to you guys?
I did a fresh install, but copied the HFSPlus.efi into the folder instead of VBoxHfs-64.efi. Think that was the issue.
I'll update you guys tomorrow after work.

I really appreciate your prompt help btw.

I copied the EFI folder from this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...e-z370-hd3p-i5-8600k-geforce-gtx-1050.243017/
The Clover interface changed to a white background instead of the previous black, I'm assuming thats the legacy version? (picture below)

And also is there a way to delete all those extra boot options?

Hey, sorry for the MIA.

I followed your steps, and everything works from the igpu, but when I put in the gtx 780 sc, I get this error. Any ideas?
