macOS 10.13.4 Update

Smooth update on both my systems, no issues at all.

Updated on my specs with no bigger problems than video. At first, I downloaded and installed the driver from Nvidia's website, but the video was so laggy and safari was useless so much UI problems I was facing.

The main problems were:
  • Stutters when change full screen apps
  • Dock bouncing animations where lagging or not happening at all
  • Every zoom animation in launchpad was lagging
  • Sometimes, Safari becomes unresponsive
  • CUDA not recognised by After Effects, Premiere and others
  • CUDA asking for updates but it was updated
  • Finder seemed to respond with some delay
Searching in other forums about the video issue in last updates of the system, seems that it only happens to some boards like 1050 TI Galax ( mine ), GTX 1080 and some 1060 TI from EVGA and 1070, but I'm not sure. They told that was a problem with Metal and some cards even in real Macs, but I can't confirm this too.

Today the script I use to downgrade my video driver blacklisted this update too, I installed it and everything is working as it was supposed to now.

I'll post the link below, so anyone who is having issues with video can use it

I ran the gamut on this for weeks.
10.13.2 with nvidia .102 driver was the only stable combo, for me.
BUT HDMI to my Sony 40" Bravia was overly saturated/dark. Sucks!
Sierra 10.12.6 had the best quality display to date!!
I tried 10.13.4 yesterday with newest nvidia driver but it was not smooth, better than 10.13.3... and NO CUDA driver so its hard to say how it will be with Hardware Acceleration that works. However, HDMI to my Sony 40" was fixed! MUCH better. Once CUDA is out for 387.10.10.10.30.103 I'll try it again.

I used GitHub to install nvidia .106 with 10.13.4 and its Smooth running and the display is still good! Seems the display quality issue (for me at least) was more with the macOS version.

Great Site, Thankful Always for all the help!

Has anyone experienced upgrading from 10.13.3 to 10.13.4 broke iMessages? Update went smoothly (like real Mac) but then iMessage stopped working. I have not tried the guide for dummies from the Guides menu yet; it worked before. Is this something new?

Actually your clue was very helpful! I was, until now, fighting with some "lagginess". I'm designer, so I use heavy apps to get the job done like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and every time, after 15 or less minutes of work, my Hackintosh was so slow that I had to reboot it.

I have installed .106 version and its 20 minutes now and seems that it's working

I'll update with more info about what happened. Maybe this is a solution for those who need it working at least until a new version address this problem and fix it

I see that lilu, nvidiagraphicsfixup and intelgraphicsfixup are not updated for 10.13.4 but people r still updating. is there no big issue with it then? if I never had black screen issues before, do I not need to worry about it? I am using imac 18,1 right now.

I am using 104 since people say the new driver is bad.

Installed the latest Nvidia driver and have no lag - but then I use Firefox and sometimes Chrome so just for "fun", I DID open up Safari and yeah, it is laggy. Don't know why that one app chunks while everything else is fine. And yes, even Metal is enabled.

Update on HP Elite 8300 SFF went through fine.
on GB87N-Wifi, with i3 4340 w/ HD4600 - everything works well except my LG Ultra wide display, the right part is green IMG_20180401_185546.jpg

. When I took the screenshot it does capture the right side as it should be..

Mine is connected to a DVI monitor with a DVI cable.
No injectors.
No additional kexts.
RadeonDeinit set to false.
Without Intel graphics.
iMac14,2 SMBIOS.

Hey I see u disabled iGPU. In my case and as reported by some other members, without an iGPU, performance of RX 560 drops dramatically after some load. It seems that your confit is not suffering from this.

LuxMark ball scored 6500 after reboot, but after a while of using the computer, it scored only 1200 or so, and launchpad is massively dropping frames.

I get a black screen at login in with my new build when using display port cable. Doesn't happen with hdmi cable. It doesn't seem to recognize the display port cable at all at login or once logged in. Only works at post and initial booting. I've tried using lilu and/or whatevergreen, also tried no kexts, no RadeonDeInit. Nothing makes a difference.

Anyone have a solution for this?

My build is z370n-wifi, i7-8700k, RX 580 GPU
