My original guide was iMac 18,3 in 10.13.2

Now I can say 6core Coffeelake system is more reliable on iMac Pro 1,1 than iMac 18,3

All installation steps I followed from @kgp's iMac Pro guide. Thanks to him and other contributors!

The macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 was finally released yesterday. The update went smoothly via App store.

The macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 update improves the stability, performance, and security of your Mac, and is recommended for all users.

Plus, I recently tried the i7-8700k coffee lake CPU delidding. The current CPU is overclocked to 5.1GHz. My Hackintosh is very stable and is now well utilized in the latest High Sierra version. I simply attached the benchmark score below. Sooner or later i7-8700k delidding video will be prepared and I will write a guide and review of it as well.

Hi,
I am using the same CPU and motherboard as you. The graphics card is RX 560. I updated to 10.13.4.
I am using IMac 18.3, but I am interested in iMac pro 1.1.
What kind of part is more reliable?
Should I try it?

I want to ask one more thing. Do all the LEDs turn off when shut down?
In my case I will not turn it off by shutting down.
The BIOS is F5. Please also tell me your BIOS version.

Hey, iMac pro1,1 reliable than iMac 18,3 on my system.
I had no issue with 18,3 as well but Final cut pro X had some issue in 18,3.

I do mostly video editing in 4k above. FCPX is very important to me.
Other else, I do not use kexts like lilu, appleALC, whatevergreen, shiki, etc.

Well, I did de-lid for my CPU and I do not need QuickSynce either.
I do not use iGPU which has many issues for running hackintosh either.
Vega is a really good card as well.

One more thing I choose this is for Netflix running well in Safari without iGPU :))

Well, I can use chrome or firefox for Netflix but they are very low-resolution compared to safari.

I am using F5, the LED stuff you can control in Bios for turn off or on.

If you said about system shut down is not working, mine is fine.

You should put the right setting in bios and check shutdown fix in config, one more thing you need to uncheck wake for network access in system preference

Thank you. I will refer to it.
By the way, does Intel Power Gadget work?

This is a known problem! The leds don't turn off when shutting down in gigabyte motherboards! You can turn them off in bios but that way they'll always stay off, also when the pc is working!

Hi, thanks for your info.

I have a question that maybe you can help me to answer.

I have 8700k (Manually OC @ 4.8GHz in bios, tested on win10), in high sierra 10.13.4 when I run Cinebench R15 the cpu looks like is running on base clock and not OC, staying @ 3,70 GHz... I see yours @ 5.1 GHz. Why mine is not reading 4.8 GHz ?

Do you have any advise? Everything works fine on the system.

Many thanks

You can make it as cosmetic. Since you already OCed, your system is on 4.8ghz but the cosmetic part is not done yet. Use Clover configurator and there is CPU part that you can easily fix for that in config.plist Go to CPU> then fix CPU frequency 4800MHZ

i7-8700k coffee lake CPU delidded

Mine is stock

the cpu looks like is running on base clock

Same here.. but I believe Im not on 5ghz.. cause at startup boot screen it says running at 3700ghz

Hi there buyjoey and gianlucaluisi,

I just installed High Sierra in my new hackintosh build -> Asus Maximus X Formula, i7-8700k + corsair h150i pro rgb 32gb G.Skill 3200ghz, a Samsung 960 Pro 512gb, and Asus GTX 970 Strix.

Tried in bios to put it on 5ghz, in extreme tweaking.. and while it says that the target is 5ghz, when I reboot, it still says 3700mhz in the American Megatrends boot screen, so I don't think Im running at 5ghz. Also in High Sierra it says 3700mhz or 3.7ghz in any screen (cpu-z, Geekbench, Lexmark, Cinebench, etc..)

Still what amazes me, is that my bench stats are not that far from yours!! So Im not sure whats going on!

Screen Shot 2018-05-18 at 20.23.53.png Screen Shot 2018-05-18 at 20.31.10.png

Note that in About this Mac and CPU-Z it also shows my ram as 32gb "0" MHz!!

So.. what do you think?.. am I running at 5ghz? cause if Im at 3.7, my Single Core and Multi-Core are close to yours on 5.1ghz! That can't be right.

The OpenCL, yeah.. but comparing a 970 vs Vega64!! shouldn't just be that difference.. but way more!..
And also in LuxMark.. Im about just half, but again.. 970 vs Vega64!!

Here's also my Cinebench R15, comparing to your results gianlucaluisi, practically the same!.. and Im on the 970 and you on a 1080ti!!

Screen Shot 2018-05-18 at 20.40.08.png

Are the benchmark apps not getting real results with i7-8700k? or is it something else?

Any ideas?... (please anyone is welcome to share some light) :)

My system
CPU - skylake-z 7820x (4.7 OC)
M/B - Asus x299 Prime Deluxe (same KGP's sytem)
RAM - Corsair 3600 C18 (3766 OC)
VGA - Sapphire RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooling (same your VGA)

However, the Vega 64 Cinebench score is too low.
My score is 14X fps.
Do you know why?
