6. Copied the "EFI-X299-10.13.3-Release-iMacPro1,1-200218" folder to usb flash drive and renamed it EFI.

This step is wrong... You don’t transfer the EFI Folder there, transfer it to EFI Partition of that drive, then it should boot into the installer..

Yes, your absolutely correct! I was scratching my head. I made a install usb using Unibeast and noticed the EFI needed to go info the EFI partition. Noob mistake. I am finally at the white clover screen. Fingers crossed. I cant wait to get this beast working in osx. My Cinebench score was 4100! Overclocked of course though.

thanks a lot for the FamkeSMC.
This seems to work on my build with most of the sensors I am aware of.

Side effect is that my idle frequency goes down to 1.2 GHz now instead of the 3 GHz it was running on before.
When I run Geekbench it seems to be using all 24 threads

Next Step is cleaning up a little and then I have to find a way to transfer the System from the 1 TB external drive to the 500 GB SSD....
Will see how that goes some when tonight :D

All the Best
Frank

Well I am getting closer. I finally made it to the section D4. 10) the second boot screen where I would be setting up registration at iCloud, but as soon as I reboot and get to the grey screen the mouse freezes. I cant get past this! After I reboot again I get this message "see screenshots"

Anyone know why this would be? Thanks so much!

i9 7980xe
Asus x299 Deluxe
32GB DD4-3000 XMP to 3200
evga 1080ti
latest bios 1301
high sierra 10.13.3

UPDATE: After ripping my hair out I turned off XMP in the bios (my RAM was being overclocked) and vola....no more freezing! If this happens to you turn off XMP, hope it helps!

My build began tonight. First task, grafting macbook air wifi into X299 Designaire EX motherboard. What a pain, the adapter and wifi card are way too tall and will stick up through the lighted shield that covers the ports. Dremel time! Looks like my hot rod is going to have a blower through the hood.

UPDATE: I reset my bios settings back to "load optimized defaults" and I get a few blinking dashes where it looks like it wants to boot to clover, but then it goes right to bios again.
you must disable CSM in the BOOT section of the BIOS, otherwise it won't boot

Finished, I hope it works! I was able to avoid the LED cables in the shield.

Stuck on the step E.2 I am trying to get the Nvidia drivers to work I followed these steps:

a.) "Install now the patched Nvidia 10.13 Web Driver Package". - Basically I figured out I
need to login to insanely Mac or the link won't work. Download file, then go and find the latest Nvidia Mac drivers
and put them in the "Packages folder" inside "Nvidia WebDriver-Payload Repackager" you downloaded.

b.) "Perform the following additional steps after installing the respective patched Nvidia Web Driver:"

i.) Copy /L/E/ NVDAStartupWeb.kext to your Desktop. - This means copy from Library/Extensions/ the file
NVDAStartupWeb.kext to my desktop I did that next

ii.) Right-click on NVDAStartupWeb.kext and select show package content.

iii.) Change to "Contents" and edit the "Info.plist" with Xcode. Downloaded the latest beta of Xcode from apple

iv.) Go to IOKitPersonalities -> NVDAStartup -> change "NVDARequiredOS" from "17C2205" or "17D2102" to "17D2104" or "17E182c" (the corresponding build number of 10.13.4 public beta 5). This was a bit confusing, I just changed the 17D2102 to 17E182c, but I didn't understand the "corresponding build number of 10.13.4 public beta 5" where would I find this? Is 17E182c the right code to change to?

v.) Save the "Info.plist" file and copy the modified "NVDAStartupWeb.kext" to /L/E/ with root permission. How do I access root permission? I just dragged and dropped the file in Library/Extensions/ and it asked for my password. Is that all root means?

vi.) Open a terminal and enter the following commands: this is were is stopped working all together: in terminal I get this:

Last login: Mon Mar 26 00:58:15 on console

giftstudiosiPro:~ giftstudio$ sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions/NVDAStartupWeb.kext
