pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

If it was sold as 3200 with certain timings it means it can run that fast with these timings for sure (maybe even faster, but you won't get any guarantee of that). If it doesn't run like it, then I would bet on a misconfiguration in your BIOS.

Thanks! I´ll then go again through the bios etc. Maybe first thing I should update BIOS to 0612, Pastrychef seems to be running fine, I guess I could always downgrade.
Thanks for your advice, this is my first computer and hack running fine except for this issue, and every step feels intense. :)

Enable XMP in BIOS.

Enable XMP in BIOS.

Thing is it does not start with XMP enabled; then I have to go back to previous saved profile (actual running at 5GH).
I have also tried with a couple of voltages for DRAM (1.35 and 1.38 as seen in Asus forum) but to no good result. Maybe I should restore original bios settings (after writing down my fans setup) and/or update to 0612 and start from scratch .

Yeah, something doesn't sound right. The settings should stick in BIOS if they are saved.

Sorry, I did not explain myself correctly, the settings are saved, but the system does not boot. So I go back into bios and select previous saved profile. See bios capture below.

Not really sure I understand this correctly - how come you can run the CPU overclocked to 5GHz without having XMP enabled? I'd suggest loading the BIOS defaults, dropping ANY form of overclocking for now and trying to get the RAM to run it's native speeds. Also, you said you run 5GHz with idle temps around 36C and it doesn't really seems likely at constant 5GHz, so I'm not sure if you're reading your settings correctly.

I guess through my ignorance and testing did get a setup combo that works in such way?
see bios capture below in case it is of interest.

But I'll do as you suggest, load defaults and try to get the RAM at its native speed.
This is a learning curve I am going through.

And I did not explain myself right about temp either.
36ºC with minimum CPU load, handbrake mp4 compression with all 12 cores full load for 5 minutes or longer brought it up to high 80ºCs/90ºC. Capture below taken as I type.

Thanks you guys for your help!

Yes. I recently tested the newest UniBeast and MultiBeast and they both worked fine.

I don't know what hardware you are using so I can't help you.

As per the rules, please fill out your profile so that it's easier for others to help you.

Also, if you install using MultiBeast, you will end up with a different configuration from those who use my EFI folders, so troubleshooting things will be different.
