Hi everyone,

Just acquired a great looking cube (been trying to find a good one for a fair price) I got it in Mexico and have it delivered to the US. To be honest it is a shame to have to take it apart, it's so perfect! But then again what's the point of having it sitting on a box.

So, I am not an expert on this, in fact, this is my first ever built (always wanted to have a custom built) and when I saw this in particular, I just had to find a way on doing it.

What is desired to have:
  • Mini ITX LGA-1151 mobo: GA-H270N-WiFi
  • Intel i7 6500
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 TI GAMING EVGA model (May consider GTX 1060 mini)
  • EZDIY-FAB NEW PCI Express PCIe3.0 16x Flexible Cable Card Extension
  • Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s
  • Inateck ST1002S 2"x2.5" SSD to 3.5" Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit Bracket (May use something like this)
  • SanDisk 1TB Ultra 3D NAND SATA III SSD and Seagate 2TB BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s 64MB (Windows 10 and OSX Partition SSD and files/games on HDD)
  • Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 (Considering one of this as well for OSX)
  • BCM94352Z NGFF M.2 WiFi WLAN Bluetooth 4.0 (Not sure about compatibility)
  • Power: DC 12V 250W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU or DC 12V 250W mini Pico PSU PC ATX
  • Cable Matters 24-Pin ATX Power Supply M/F Extension Cable
  • Noctua - NH-L9i 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler
My main concern is the power, thus, made the calculations on PCPARTPICKER - 211W ~ out of the 250W (Not sure this will work). Other than that OS compatibility, I want to run Mac OS Sierra or El Capitan and if possible High Sierra.

I'm still getting the Money's together, but I'm starting ordering parts this week. I hope this is enough information to get some advise prior to start spending money.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums! Sounds like your build is very similar to mine. Here's my thread on the machine I built last year. I wound up going with a T variant CPU, and I've never had any power problems, measured pull rarely goes over 120W max. Plays most games my wife and I are interested in (Overwatch, PUBG, Fallout, etc.) pretty well, with no real issues. Just keep an eye on the thermals, that was a tricky part for me.

I've been looking through the forums and "learning" basically, I really liked your specs. Your build is what inspire me!, and of course I will be following your guidelines on it. I am considering going with the T variant as well, and to save some money and so it can go somewhere else.
Have you finished installing the OSX?, I still have a lot of questions, about WiFi + Bluetooth card, and so on...

I know it's heresy, but I still haven't gotten around to installing OS X- I'd love to get another SSD to facilitate that, but I haven't tried beyond just booting from the installer.
