pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I just updated the motherboard BIOS to version 0612. Everything is working fine.

Wow. I've never heard of this issue before. Have you tried in Windows to see if the system also reboots when the GPU is stressed?

No, I am unaware of a better version of the Nvidia web drivers to use.

I don't have the creeping slowness & reboot issue with the 1070 under Windows 10. So the hardware seems to be fine.

Using a 970 with .104 drivers in this build seems to work OK so far. I'm somewhat confident that the Nvidia drivers are foobar for 1070s currently.

Still, I'm getting a serious UI smoothness envy when reading your posts. ;-) However, Vega 56s are prohibitively expensive here at the moment. Are there any recommendable cheaper AMD cards that give a smooth and flawless 4K UI and video experience when ultra-high-performance is not a primary goal otherwise?

As of today, the Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Pulse is the most compatible AMD card for macOS, but it has to be from the correct batch. If you end up with one from the wrong batch, it's possible to hack it for native support.
See here for more info: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...x580-pulse-into-the-mac-edition-card.2101909/

If you can wait until the release of macOS 10.13.4, the entire landscape for macOS compatible AMD video cards should change as Apple has been working on making a large number of cards compatible for eGPU use.

I personally just made a preemptive decision to switch to AMD ahead of the 10.13.4 release because I was able to recoup a decent amount of money from the sale of my old GTX 1080 and speculation that 10.13.4 is due out "any day now".

Sure, I use it every day. Just install Bootcamp Broadcom drivers in Windows. Nothing to do in macOs.

I can't see what's causing your sleep issues in the console log. As far as I can tell everyone has sleep/wake working with he Strix Z370-g when using the latest EFI folder in post #1.

DOCBJR is having issues with an ASRock motherboard.
Haven't heard back from joesph23.

The usual things should be checked:
If you are overclocking. Try running at stock speeds.
Make sure you have CPU power management set up correctly.
Make sure you have USB set up correctly.
My ASRock is now 99% solid. It sleeps and wakes. Once in a great while it wakes by itself, though.

Maybe you could help me,
Though I managed to have my CPU at a stable max of 5Ghz and idle temps around 30-36ºC I can't get to XMP my 3200 ram F4-3200C16D-32GTZSW 16-18-18-38 1.35v. I did try following the video guide Pastrichef recommended to no good result, did some more research (Asus forum here) and tried with Dram voltage a bit higher than 1.35v (1.38v) but I can not get my ram to go over 2133
Could you post some captures of your BIOS Aitweak settings?
I have almost the exact same configuration as yours, only GTX970 4'5GB.
Thanks!

Are you using Apple drivers or Nvidia web drivers?

On 970GTX nVidia drivers .106

Pastrychef, thanks again, now for the updated EFI!
Updated today and all is run smooth.

I have not updated to 10.13.3 supplemental yet though (kind of scared of doing it although sys is backup with Chronosync).

The Supplemental Update has been running fine for me. The only issue is the Nvidia web drivers. Stay on the version you are currently using and you should be fine.

So, I think I am missing something here (newbie me ) this is my RAM Skill 2x16 DDR4 3200MHz compatible with the MB according to Asus:

What's the difference between mine and yours other than the timming? Is mine not designed to natively run at 3200?
