Can't figure out how to get Creative Sound Core 3D chip working

That's a good suggestion. I guess if I don't find a way to get it working, I'll do that, thanks!

My pleasure. I think you'll find the dragonfly a breeze - I certainly wanted the academic challenge of understanding audio, but from having spoken to at least one consultant, he found audio issues were among the toughest to manage. So - ask yourself - how much is your time worth? If it's gonna take you hours of hair-pulling to get it working, is it worth it to you? For me...$99 dragonfly was a welcome relief...I wasn't getting any closer to understanding all the audio acronyms...

Did you ever have any luck? I have the z270 Gaming 7 with Creative Sound Core 3d as well. I'm trying to find out the difference between what we have and the "supported" (by using AppleALC) Creative CA0132 codec.

Just trying to keep the thread alive.

Guys, I have the same motherboard Gigabyte z270x Gaming 7 and I have all the sound working by simply installing the latest VoodooHDA driver which as of today is version 2.8.8:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/voodoohda/

Let me know if that works for you.

Hi,

I have the same MB.
I installed VoodooHDA from Multibeast and it did NOT work.
I kept getting errors on VoodooHDA kexts.

Will try installing the package from the link you provided and see how i go. ;)
Fingers crossed.

Also if you have not already changed your audio inject ID to 11 please follow the instructions on jktaurus8's guide below--scroll down below the Post Installation section to the Audio Method Two section:

He shows the following steps:

1. Copy the latest Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext into /EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/Other
2. Add the HDAS patch in DSDT using CloverConfigurator
3. Change audio inject ID from 1 to 11

Good Luck!

It worked thanks so much!

Only thing not working is volume control. I'm afraid to change anything and lose audio. Did it work for you straight out?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but has anyone gotten the volume slider control working for the Z270X-Gaming 7 motherboard?

Did you try what I suggested here?
With AppleALC, Layout-id 4 is recommended for 5.1. To use the front headphone you can use the Switcher App or layout-id 6

I'll check that out, but note that I have sound working just fine with VooDooHDA.kext. I'm just trying to get the volume slider to work for volume adjustment.

* After reading through your thread, I see a few options there. Can you recommend anything specifically to get the volume slider control working?
