I have 161 and the WindowServer keeps consuming memory, in 5 mins it went from 500M to over 1G with signs of stopping. All I have been running is Safari. The problem still exists.

Very odd - I've had 161 for 24 hours and WindowServer has hovered around 300MB since the upgrade. I observed the leak on 158 so I'm familiar with the behavior. Could be some other difference in configuration - resolution, monitor connector type, etc. Obviously our graphic cards are different - per your profile (assuming it's correct) you're on a 750 while I'm using a 1070.

Are you running a 4k monitor in scaled mode? I was having problems with WindowServer consuming huge amounts of memory, accompanied by progressively worsening lag until I set my display settings back to "Default for display". Although the text is smaller than I like, performance is back up to where it was and WindowServer stays around 100 - 200 MB of memory.

I have a 4K and same issues, setting to default was not going to work, to small, using the fix, I am using scaled and WindowServer is consuming 258mb. I haven't seen any update completely address the memory leak but I have not tried 161 yet either. My current state is using the older driver but that is working for me and I have need to run the latest version if its going to make things worse

First post here, but wanted to share that .161 definitely fixed the lag for me. I use BetterSnapTool to resize windows, and the lag when moving them around was around a full second. Now it's instantaneous!

It was the only real issue with my Hackintosh, really happy it's fixed.

.161 fixed the lag for me and also windowserver issue

I'm not sure if the driver is the issue or last Firefox update (60.0beta1) but in FF there is a lag for click and hover o_O no other problems yet.

Not a 4K and in the default mode, i.e. not scaled.

I report a laggy system with the .161 on my build, reverted back to .106 and it works better.

Forgive me, but I also ask the same question as I did on a separate thread and that remained without real answer. My sys report shows that my GTX950 lanes' width is x2, where it should be x16, anyone has an idea about that?

Hello all. Brand new to hackintosh, finally got everything up and running. I have skipped running the 10.13.3 suplemental update for now and am running .156 on a 1070 but i have odd lags here and there, usually when command + tab switching or bringing up the dock. Is this related to the graphics card? Is there any consensus on how to solve, wary of updating given the troubles of .161 for many people on this thread. Should i downgrade and if so could someone point me in the direction of how to do so?
