I already confirmed that the new Kozlek distribution is not properly working. What about just using his recent GPU Sensor kext with the former HWSensor and FakeSMC distribution of @interferenc?

With my Nvidia GPU the latter approach is working:

surprising that it shows 0W for CPU Package DRAM, with 128GB of RAM it should easily be in the 25-30W range...

Without this patch disc must be attached to a sata port prior to boot in order to be recognized and mounted (Finder and Disk Utility)

This only states for your system.. ;)

Thats really sad to read! His posts were really helpful.

no they weren't... Most of them were telling other they were pretty much idiots and telling them off...
Just had to read the various exchanges whenever someone was asking about audio setup. Dare to disagree and you could be certain to endure personal attacks.

You may be an "expert", but it still can be done in a constructive and friendly fashion...
Don't need divas around here...

Don't be too picky ;).. Be happy that everything works like it does.. Many efforts to have everything implemented in this way..

Few tiny things will still be improved in the near future..

can you point to where I can find that patch so I test and see if it makes any difference?

there...
The only point for this kext is to prevent the conversion from HFS+ to apfs

Edit: sorry misread, i was still on the talk about the unsolid part

Well, it works for me though... Hence why I'm surprised it's not showing on yours...

That report is CPU / X299 controller bound, there shouldn't be a difference between boards (luckily)

Well don't ask me.. better ask @interferenc or @kozlek. I guess it basically has to do with a different SuperIOSensor implementation for the different boards.

the patch allows for a disc previously not attached to a sata port to be recognized.

Without this patch disc must be attached to a sata port prior to boot in order to be recognized and mounted (Finder and Disk Utility)

The downside you see internal discs as external.

Ehy @kgp...the PCIe 4 port SATA board works too now!

Moved to slot PCIEX1_2 ---> Slot 5

Bingo!

In BIOS enable Hot Plug only for those SATA port that you will be hotpluging.

With this patch it is like that:
every SATA port that has Hot Plug set to Enable in BIOS will be hot swapable and will show up as external disk.
every SATA port that has Hot Plug set to Disable in BIOS will NOT be hot swapable and will show up as internal disk.

by hot swapable I mean, that with a running system you can attach disk to SATA port, that was empty when the system was started.

At least that is how it works on my system.
