I will try the D-Link DWA-131 USB Wireless adapter, socrtwo. For 10$ maybe I might have solved the problem...

Hi @socrtwo! do you know if this fix also apply to High Sierra??? or if there is any patch for it??? Thank you very much!!!

No, I'm not sure if it works for High Sierra, but give it a try. I haven't read or heard of a patch yet, although I haven't been researching this issue since my last post.

Update... I installed the kexts as you posted, and it doesn't work at all, it recognizes the wifi but crashes immediately. The next I did was erase the IO80211Family.kext and all the variations of it, and install the OI80211Family.kext from Yosemite and it works OOTB!!! just install the KextFix.kext with Kext Utility and thats it. I don't know exactly how it works, but it does. It crashes suddenly but just restart and got the iMac working again...

I Hope this works for someone else with the same issue.

Does it work every other time you boot and when it doesn't work it crashes the machine, that is what was happening to me. That's great though if you have a solution, although as mentioned by someone else, crashing a machine on every 2nd boot, may not be healthy for it.

I had that crash problem, but I apply the fixkext again and since that, everything works like a charm!!!... No more crashes!

Try:
  1. https://sites.google.com/site/osxyosemitewififix/.
  2. Continue using KEXT Utility and install BroadcomFix.kext from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263533-broadcom-bcm4321-lion/#post_id_1864957.
After that, Sierra might panic and crash but when it reboots, you might be able to get WiFi. I have been successful on two different A1304 MacBook Airs 2,1 with BCM4321 adapters, one with a (0x14E4, 0x8B) adapter and one with a (0x14E4, 0x90) one. So far the machines haven't crashed again for several hours.

I used this guide and and can confirm that it enables an iMac 8,1 to run 10.13.3 with Wifi. Thank you!

Unfortunately, since applying the kexts, I ran into the "restarting every other time saying 'Your Computer Restarted because of a Problem'"-problem after trying to shut it down using the software buttons.
Only reapplying the BroadcomFix.kext using the Kext Utility doesn't seem to resolve this problem. Do you have any other suggestion, or can you - @irako - explain to me what steps exactly you needed to take to solve this?

Any news on this? I just picked up an iMac 8,1 from a thrift shop and I'd like to load HS on it, but it has the bcm4321 card on it so I know that I'd either need to do this or use a dongle and I'd prefer to not have to use a dongle if I don't have to. Just not sure I want to take the trouble to actually replace the card since that involves having to remove the glass and that looks like a massive pain. (I hate working with glass, it makes me nervous)

Decided to solve the problem with additional hardware by building a eth to wifi bridge out of a raspberry pi I had laying around so not worried anymore.
