macOS 10.13.3 Supplemental Update

...I'm pretty new to using Intel Graphics, I have only been using Intel since the beginning of this year.
Every time I update it's been a nightmare. The Installer crashes when trying to boot the graphics, the only thing that works is going completely back in Nvidia, which normally results in me having to download and run the installer again. Once upgraded, I try to go back to using Intel graphics, but just like when I try to run the installer, my machine crashes when MacOS tries to boot the graphics.
...

Using Intel graphics and idling that monster 1080Ti is like parking your beat up Yugo in the garage and leaving the new BMW parked in the street...

I don't even have the Intel graphics option turned on in BIOS and I switch between OS X and Win10 everyday.

Hello everyone,

The new version of the Nvidia Web Driver 387.10.10.10.25.158 a few light lags (much less and usable compared to 387.10.10.10.25.156 version), but solves a problem that many people have long since especially on the Pascal series (i've a GTX 1060 6GB : Gigabyte GTX 1060 Mini ITX OC 6G - GV-N1060IXOC-6GD).

With each new driver, I test the suspension of activity that creates glitching after the sleep awakening when the gpu is solicited as a benchmark for example.

The 387.10.10.10.25.158 version solves this big problem, I just tested at the moment.

Otherwise the installation procedure of the Nvidia Web Driver is still a problem and long (CsrActiveConfig to 0x0 and touch ./Library/Extension ./System/Library/Extension in recovery mode), compared to the AMD RX 560, 570 and 580 , natively supported.

It is already good that this solution for glitching.

Have a good day.

That's a terrible analogy. Enabling IGPU also enables things like AirPlay and Quick Sync.

I'm using the AMD RX570 and I just did a seamless update to 10.13.3 check my video !!!

BTW - I just backed up my system and performed the update. New nVidia driver (.158) and I'm back up. Audio still works.

I'm still tinkering and deciding if I'm lagging or not... but for now, things are looking good without noticeable lag.

It sounded like he wasn't even using it...
I've got AirPlay running now without the IGPU. Not sure about QuickSync.

How did you get AirPlay enabled without IGPU? I was always under the impression that it's reliant on Intel graphics.

There's also HEVC that's enabled with IGPU.

You made me reboot.... to check to see if I really have PEG set and IGPU off. My BIOS doesn't have a "IGPU OFF" setting, just a PEG/IGPU option for primary.

When I first built this system I put it together using the IGPU and then later added the 1080Ti. Perhaps I have some setting leftover from then. Not sure, but the IGPU is not on and I just checked AirPlay and things work.

Just updated from the stand-alone Supplemental Update package. After the update is finished, I had to run vulgo's webdriver.sh script to update the build number into the current (.104) Web Driver and was back in business.

I did run into a minor hiccup but figured out what had caused the issue. My system has both the Intel HD 630 and NVidia GTX 970. I had not removed the NVidia GTX 970 when trying to run the supplemental update and, of course, it got stuck at the Apple logo. I had to modify the config.plist file to include the FakeID for the Intel HD 630 (IntelGFX=0x59128086) and ig-platform-id=0x5912000 in order to proceed (without having to remove the NVidia GTX 970 card.) Once the update had finished, the config.plist file was restored to the earlier version (without the IntelGFX and ig-platform-id changes).

Does this solution work well , I am sick of removing my Nvidia cards for each update.
Can you give me a link to more information on how to do this .
