Hey everyone!
I have a serious problem with my laptop. I have a HP Elitbook 8770W and recently I upgraded my GPU from nVIDIA Quadro K5000M (Kepler) to nVIDIA GeForce GTX980M (Maxwell). I attempt to install macOS Sierra on my laptop when I still had K5000M and everything was OK. After the upgrade I tried to install macOS High Sierra with the latest tools on this website and every time my graphic glitches.
I think I followed every step of this topic, didn’t inject the nVIDIA driver and set nv_disable=1 boot flag, but still nothing. I’m not sure if I did it correctly. Here I attached what happens in my machine during setup.
At first the Apple logo seems fine but right ater the loading bar appears, the problem begins. The system is responsive, I could see the mouse moving.
I’m not very good at searching but I look into all nvidia related issues on this website I could find, but didn’t find any answer. Please help me on this issue :)

Thanks for your prompt reply,

I looked into the link and kinda overwhelmed by the information.
I updated my profile, did some changes like:
  • Added nv_disable=1
  • Added this KextToPatch and tried with both Disabled=true and Disabled=false:
    Code:
    <dict>
        <key>Comment</key>
        <string>Boot graphics glitch, (credit lisai9093, cecekpawon)</string>
        <key>Disabled</key>
        <true/>
        <key>Find</key>
        <data>AQAAdRc=</data>
        <key>Name</key>
        <string>IOGraphicsFamily</string>
        <key>Replace</key>
        <data>AQAA6xc=</data>
    </dict>
  • Modified SystemParameters like this:
    Code:
    <dict>
        <key>InjectKexts</key>
        <string>YES</string>
        <key>InjectSystemID</key>
        <true/>
        <key>NvidiaWeb</key>
        <true/>
    </dict>
  • Atteched the CLOVER.ZIP
  • I also booted the system with -v to see the log but it still glitches like the picture below

unibeast is mainly for dekstops

you should follow the laptop guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

also be worth reading the FAQ first:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/
as there is a lot of information to read up on

Thank you very much,

As I said I was overwhelmed by too many threads and information and didn’t know if they are relevant. As you already noticed, I took the completely wrong way by going with unibeast .
Alright, I’ll redo everything and update this thread

pssst, first time i used unibeast on my laptop many moons ago until i saw the laptop guide :)

its all fun and learning :)

I a bit frustrated :( I did whatever was in my extend of knowledge and I found on the web bu nothing worked. After installing the Nvidia Web Driver, I get black screen in the middle of loading page. Here the drivers I tried:

1. OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi
2. OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi + EmuVariableUefi-64.efi
3. AptioMemoryFix-64.efi + EmuVariableUefi-64.efi (My laptop seems not to like AptioMemoryFix tho)

The build number is 17D47 so I'm installing version 387.10.10.10.25.156

There must be something wrong with the config file like injecting fake ids, but I couldn't find anything.

you may only be able to use your intel graphics (nvidia optimus)
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/

The integrated graphic is disabled on my laptop and there is no way I can turn it on. When I use GPU-Z, the only graphic card I see is Nvidia.
InjectKexts should be set to Detect

all kexts should be installed to system:
post 2 installing kexts:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...er-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/#post-917904

if you have no intel graphics then you won't be needing:
IntelGraphicsFixup.kext

if you use: EmuVariableUefi-64.efi then you need to make sure to install RC scripts from the clover package
