Yeah, but the creator of the kext even though having an xps machine said it's impossible for now. By the way in linux i2c makes the deal...

Did you check into the new I2C kexts? Or are you looking at the old kext?

@bozma88 Ive got a Dell XPS 9360 with i7 8550u with High Sierra, everything is working nice, but i need some support about thunderbolt 3. I was able to connect a disk using a USB-C to Sata adapter, but i need to connect there a Firewire soundcard, RME Fireface 400. I've bought the apple TB3 to TB2 adapter, also apple TB2 to FW800 adapter, and FW800 to FW400 cable, using MacBookPro 14,3 SMBIOS and still not working. Do you have any clue to fix this daisy-chain connection?

Do you mean this one or am I missing something?

I only know that the FAQ links to the correct I2C support thread. Follow link from FAQ. Then read carefully.

Note: I cannot comment on whether the new I2C kext is compatible with your computer or not. That is for you to research and or implement the required code/extensions.

Hello,

I am new here and planning to install High Sierra on my XPS 13 9360
However I got Kernel Panic right after I click Install.

I have the original Toshiba 256G NVMe SSD, not sure if 4K align is required (but I have Windows 10 already installed so prefer not to format the whole drive if possible)

I can observe something related to ACPI from the verbose screen but not sure how to fix it.

* With BIOS ver 2.4.2

[del]
** I can't get the preboot.log and oem DSDT as my USB drive is in HFS+ format but I still upload here for reference (I guess I'm doing something wrong here, sorry for that)
[/del]

One thing (out of topic btw), how to access the USB Clover EFI partition under Windows?

You need to set config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/FixHeaders=true.

It is default on all guide plists:

I just realized that I never actually ran a GeekBench score on my hackintosh build.

With BIOS 2.3.1, the result while still running some other apps is:
MacBookPro14_1_-_Geekbench_Browser.png

Interestingly enough, the GeekBench test did not cause the fan to turn on at all.

When I have some time, I'll see if there is any additional tweaking possible and/or run this on a fresh reboot with no other open apps/background tasks.

When i do a check at UseARTFrequency in clover I get much better scores (single core 6200 with the i7-7500U), but I had bad issues with audio. It took me a few days to figured out the problem. Without the check the score is always around 4000.
