I know this is a long shot, but I am one of the stubborn sticks in the mud that will not budge from their favorite OS X version. I have had no reason to upgrade until now.

I am needing to install office 365, but it requires me to have a higher version number.. I was hoping perhaps any one on here may know of a way to get newer applications to run on the older OS. Modifying my SystemVersion.plist seemed to get further, but the application still refuses to run.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! ^^

MBP 9,2
OS X 10.8.5 > Spoofed via SV plist > 10.11.1 (15B42)

Thanks!

Is this a 2012 MBP ?

Why don't you simply partition your hard drive and dual boot two versions of OS X ? Then you can still use Mt. Lion most of the time and use the newer partition with say, Sierra to run the Office software. You can also dual boot on separate drives if you'd like to. Another option would be to simply make a hackintosh with Sierra or HS to run MS Office on.
