I finally got the new version working. Before I had black screen with spinning wheel with my NVidia 980 Ti graphic card.

Here what I did:

1) Uninstalled existing (patched) driver (.106) using the NVidia Uninstaller (Open Uninstaller... button in NVidia Driver Manager preferences pane)
2) Activated SIP in Clover (0x0 instead of 0x67)
3) Restarted
4) After reboot (so with VESA display mode), reinstalled the new driver.
5) Reboot, still with SIP enabled and voilà, it worked.

I think some files/kexts from previous version (don't know which ones exactly) aren't deleted/replaced by new driver version on installation correctly and are incompatible with the new version.

The key here is the full uninstallation of previous version. I don't know if enabling SIP helped or not, but it doesn't hurt.

I did the same to complete the installation and avoid the spinning wheel, SIP need to be enabled for both, removing old drivers and installing new one.

However, I have lag everywhere too. PASCAL GPU's affected ??

Anyway I reverted to x.104 as they work great :)

Based on all the replies I've seen here and on the macOS 10.13.3 update thread, it appears that Skylake systems and newer are more susceptible to the lag issue.

Thanks for the info, well I hope they will fix this for 10.13.4 ;)

Yeah, I can download now using Nvidia interface but I am not sure should I .... I guess it is best to wait for now.

i can confirm that doing a fresh install of the .156 drivers doesnt make a difference, neither does using an imac 14,2 smbios. i usually use mbp 13.1, same story there, bad lag...

Yup. Fresh install made no difference for me either.

A good thing i've noticed with these drivers is that now everything works after sleep on my GTX 1060. I use my hack mostly with the training game Zwift and the performance inside the game does not seem to be affected, I have not tested longer than 5 minutes after wake from sleep but will test more this weekend. The graphic and video is sluggish in 2D but game performance still works quite well. And with working sleep mode I do not have to shut down or reboot anymore.

Download the webdriver.sh file from here https://github.com/vulgo/webdriver.sh
And then execute the following lines (while running the terminal with the path of the webdriver.sh file) :

sudo ./webdriver.sh -cu https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/378/WebDriver-378.10.10.10.25.106.pkg
sudo ./webdriver.sh -m

This post has become so much confusing.
This method is the most simple and rocks.
Uninstalled Nvidia drivers, removed the card from the MoBo, turned on, executed webdrivers.sh then shutted down, inserted the card back and turned on. It works. No cares about the SIP or the SMBIOS.

Removing the GPU in High Sierra and installing drivers then putting it back in is the simplest solution.

I think people want to find a way by not removing the GPU but I found out that with nVidia if you don't have WebDrivers installed in High Sierra, it's better to just remove it and use iGPU to install (if youre on a consumer CPU that has iGPU) instead of doing many other things. In High Sierra you get a hang if there are no WebDrivers.
