Try to boot in 4K single DP, then at the login screen switch to 2dp (8k) and power cycle the monitor. I mean shut it down and turn it back on.

I have to do this with my 5K Dell

I am using 2715k with 10.13.2 and works well without any bug(no powercycle needed). Even 10bit color outputs ok.
But UP3218k, no luck.
returned this monitor already. Maybe next OSX release will support it.
Any vega users test it for 8k? maybe it will work.

No power Cycle? Kinda impossible. Can I have your config.plist? I have nv_spanmodepolicy, I need power cycle and I have the mouse pointer bug. With nVidia of course.

Of course there needs little trick.
With nvidiagraphicsfixup(latest version) ngfxpatch=pikera && nv_spanmodepolicy=1, u can now get 5k without powercycle.
Furthurmore, if you swith dual dp's position, hdmi can be back.
Don't thank me, buddy.

Would u please test 10.13.3's performance with GTX1060? I am curious about the fraps dropping issue, maybe it's gone with newer upgrade.

You're the ****ing goat mate, I've had problems for a year. You just solved the power-cycle hassle and the mouse pointer bug.

Which benchmark would you like me to run? I don't see any performance downgrade with 10.13.3, but obviously just ask and I'll do
