As long as you use Sierra, CodecCommander can remain @/S/L/E

Remove the realtekALC.kext, move Lilu and AppleALC to the Clover/kexts/Other folder.
Save and upload your IOReg.

Ok i made those changes, still no audio. Attached my IOReg... hopefully that'll help.

No idea how to fix this... should i remove the IOHDA kext?
I don't think the AppleHDA.kext is getting loaded

Also attaching my config.plist

I thought about adding a eSata card, is there one you would recommend with this mobo?
Thanks

Less so esata card, more like an adaptor... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005E2Y3DE/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

This works by simply extending a couple of the Sata ports on the Mobo to a pci card slot cover. Just a note, if you use m.2 storage on this Mobo, you’re giving up a Sata Channel, so you may run out of available data ports before they’re all plugged in. Just saying. I happen to have m.2, an ssd, and a large internal sata drive and it’s not been an issue when I’ve plugged in my esata graid.

Wern- did you get a chance to check out my IOReg? Any ideas you might have would be greately appreciated. I’ve tried everything. Thank you

Nice man, I might pick that thing up. I'm actually not using and m.2 at the moment. I knew about it taking up a sata port though.

Side note, that USB audio adapter you recommended didn't work on my rig because i still can't get audio working at all. I have no idea what's wrong. I've tried everything I can find on this site and others.. no luck. When i go to SystemPrefs > Sound I have no choices.
Maybe i'll try to update to High Sierra and that'll magically fix things?

As you have noticed AppleHDA is not loaded, you had some Realtek patches in your config.plist, i've removed them.
Make sure your AppleHDA.kext has no changes and is the version that matches your OS. Do not use the one i've provided on my topic, unless you use HighSierra.

I replaced the AppleHDA.kext with the version for Sierra, which is what i'm using 10.12.6 but it's still not working.
Also replaced the config.plist with the one you attached in the last post... after all that I rebuilt permissions and cache, rebooted, still no sound.

Also, the config.plist say's that i'm using a DDST.aml file but i don't have any loaded in my ACPI/patched folder.. does that sound right?

Any ideas? Really appreciate your help.

Ok, it looks better now but the AppleALC.kext is not loaded. It should be @clover/kexts/Other folder, optionally Clover/kexts/10.12. Since Lilu.kext is loaded, make sure AppleALC is at the same place.

Still no sound.. I got the latest 1.2.2 AppleALC.kext and put them both in the 10.12 folder. Attached a new ioreg

AppleALC still not loaded, is Lilu also the latest release?

Wern - i spent the last part of the day upgrading to High Sierra 10.13.2 and that seems to have magically fixed everything. I have sound and even volume control on my keyboard. Still no idea what the problem was on Sierra. Neve got it working.

Next up... fixing the dreaded iMessage

Thank you for all your help.
