Ok guys I found the "solution"

Just go straight and clean install Sierra, 1060 performs real good!

I was already on macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, but I decided to run the Combo Update again and I saw a noticeable improvement in smoothness in Finder. It also brought my 10.13.2 build number from 17C88 to 17C89.

Thanks!

Guys,

I just want to share my findings - I tried switching to integrated graphics (Intel 530) and THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY! Everything runs smoothly, animations are not lagging, no stuttering in performance of common tasks... I tried the test of resizing the Finder window rapidly and everything runs smooth, unlike when I'm using nVidia drivers and 1060 card GPU where it looks like I'm having serious drop in FPS... Anyway, not sure how much it helps but at least it seems that this confirms that it's definitely an issue with nVidia drivers, because the same GPU performed perfectly in previous OSX versions.

Yea, that is inline with what we found switching to Radeons :( Hopefully Nvidia/Apple can step up.

guys, do u have 2.5 GT/s link speed of GPU in system info PCI tab?

I'm gonna try this actually and report my findings.

My build does not show anything in System Information > PCI for some reason. Weird, the nvidia web drivers are loaded and stuff.

I have a kaby lake build with a EVGA 1060 6GB and Gigabyte series 200 ultra gaming mb. Made the mistake of updating to High Seirra 10.13.2 and now I get crashes after sleeping for two hours. The finder is a bit slow also as other have reported but that doesn't bother me too much. I just wish I could fix the crashes overnight. Going to disable sleep for now, but I doubt Nvidia will ever fix this.

I swapped out my GTX1080ti running 10.13.2 for a VEGA 64 air cooled. Added whatevergreen and it worked out of the box. I dont seem to have any fan issues.. though its inside a box so i dont hear it even if it spins at full speed. All of the 'weird' Nvidia issues are gone ... 10.13 feels like a different OS.

The only way i can explain this. That first time you went to the doctors with sight or hearing issues. And you first put on your glasses or hearing aid. When you realise how bad its been ? Thats how macOS is now.

I cant explain it - but the whole OS is snappy now. Its not just a case of slowdowns... there are tiny tings, like button clicks sometimes required 2 clicks. Scrolling in web browsers. gif animations that seemed ok, but now are ace.

There is 100% a major issue with the Nvidia drivers in 10.13... my VEGA64 is SO MUCH BETTER.
