GTX 1060 performance on 10.13 High Sierra

@pastrychef exactly what i'm seeing. And it's not just WebGL it's scrolling in many apps, moving windows from screen to screen, etc.

Yes, with GTX 1080, I see occasional stutters. On my hackbook Air which uses Intel HD 5500 graphics, there was no stutter.

Scrolling is smooth for me everywhere.

I found that the RX580 does work on both displays after resume from sleep, so the aformentioned issue where only one monitor works is only occurring on a cold boot. Sad to say the GPU performance of the RX580 on 10.13.2 is so much better than the 1080 TI that I will likely be selling my nvidia card. There is absolutely no comparison. Everything feels extremely smooth with the RX 580 even when using dual 4k monitors in scaled resolutions.

Sad indeed! :(

I got my HD4600 working but no 4k support, at least not over HDMI and I don't have a miniDP cable. Ordered a RX560 to tie me over. Looks like some of these Radeon 5xx cards are more expensive than they were just a month ago :(

Here's my config.plist that I got the HD4600 working with (without SMBios section, need to generate one with clover configurator or some such) on High Sierra 10.13.2, in case anyone have trouble with it. It did NOT work with the NVidia card plugged in, must be removed.

hi. same here w/ GTX1080 QHD. my macs works like a ****. it's related to Metal graphics. UI on HS now using Metal instead of OpenGL. how i can solve it? Buying AMD? lal :( windows runs 100x faster

Changing SMBIOS changes only type of issues, but they re not dissapears. Something wrong with it

Since switching SIP on and then off again (since I couldnt boot with it) it has become even worse.
If I run a youtube video in one tab everything is pretty much laggin more or less. Just horrible.

Getting a radeon card now would be 250€ out of the window. Thats some bollocks

I am sticking with the RX580 for now. Performance comparison is night and day. I will hold onto my 1080TI for now. Hopefully this is resolved in the near future with a macOS update. High Sierra definitely still has some rough edges. Has anyone tested whether the situation is better in 10.13.3 beta 2?

Out of curiosity are any of you also seeing an issue with MirrorDisplays service repeatedly in server.log?

```
Also I'm not sure if it's related, but switching to RX580 has also stopped this from appearing in the logs. And monitor wake from sleep is much faster too. With 1080TI it would take sometimes up to 30s for the monitors to resume when waking from sleep, but with the RX580 it's less than 3s.
Radeon RX 560 installed, buttery smoothness, the OOB working experience is pretty nice. I do hope Apple/Nvidia can sort this subpar performance out quickly.
Well as 24/12/17 it seems no one else but us is having this problem, am I wrong? Everyone's recommending Pascal GPUs for hackintosh purposes, even though we have this kind of issues. Maybe we are doing something wrong, I just did a clean install of High Sierra, installed Unibeast (UEFI + NVRAM) and then installed web drivers. Exactly as esetnik said, it seems overall smooth but stutters when resizing windows, and in my case, when opening and closing Launchpad folders.
PLEASE HELP at least we want to know what we are doing wrong, maybe... or what's happening with our GPUs.
By the way, I noticed that the fan is always running loud (perhaps at 90% speed or so?, I'm talking about the 1060's fan, of course) this does not happens while running Windows.
Yea I really don't understand why there arent more complaints, does it actually work smoothly for anyone? Or are people just not paying attention?
Btw, my 1070 TI just gets detected as "NVIDIA graphics device 8gb" - wonder if matters will improve if Nvidia implements specific support for it in the driver. Does the 1060 or 1080 TI get detected correctly?
