Hi!I just tried to upgrade my desktop to high Sierra from Sierra (gigabyte z87X UD5H, I7 4770Km Nvidia gtx 970X, 16GB RAM) but at the boot the apple loading logo almost at the end of the bootstrap a prohibition signal appear. I tried with erbose option but I cannot see whats happens because I can only see a mix between text and background graphic so it is impossible to read anything. Super I/o disabled, tables dropped, Nvidia driers disabled nothing...Could anyone help me? Thanks, Antonio

Look at the bottom left corner of the garbled verbose screen, does it say "Still waiting for root device" ?

Yes, seem something like this. Thanks!

Update. Looking on The forum I found a solution so now I put my pendrive in
A usb 2.0 port and all Works fine. Im
Installing on a sata ssd.
After rebooting i get this error message : Mac OS could not be installed on Your computer. Path system installation packages osinstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damaged

Make sure you don't have EmuVariables64_uefi.efi in your CLOVER EFI drivers64uefi folder on the pen drive.

Make sure the "Install macOS High Sierra" app in your Applications folder that you used to build the pendrive is the proper 5GB in size and not 19MB.

Consider disabling any devices you don't need during the install, e.g., any other drives besides the sata drive you're installing on.

thanks first f all. then... yes, I have the 5gb installation package and I don't have emevariables.... file in my refi partition
also disabled anything but the ssd drive

Assuming you still can't get to the installer UI, please add -v as a boot argument on the clover boot screen and upload the image where it hangs, and upload a zipped copy of your clover EFI (removing themes from the zip).

I tried also to starting verbose mode. at the beginning the text part scroll following the bootstrap process. then the apple logo screen appear, then the graphic interface start and appear the error message (follow the screen capture).I have the feeling that something is going wrong in the building of the usb pen drive.
To build this I use my MacBook Pro 15" 2017 running high Sierra last update. When the installation start from the pen drive at the beginning the progress bar shows "8 minutes remaining"; after less than a second the progress bar jumps to "3 minutes remaining" so five minutes of file copying disappear...

Sorry, I misunderstood. You get to the installer UI. You get the OSInstall missing or damaged error. Adding -v was not going to help.

You said "When the installation start from the pen drive at the beginning the progress bar shows "8 minutes remaining"; after less than a second the progress bar jumps to "3 minutes remaining" so five minutes of file copying disappear..."

What did you mean, the Unibeast process? Are you building the pen drive with Unibeast? For Unibeast to build the pen drive you can expect 8-15 minutes, but you can disregard any time estimates, they are notoriously unhelpful, throughout the process of installing macOS.

Taking a look at the EFI, a couple things look weird. First you have kexts in the 10.10 and 10.11 folders under kexts, why are they there? Unibeast does not put them there. The config.plist looks valid yet incomplete, and I would not use the iMac 15,1 SMBIOS. I would use iMac14,2 for now, then when everything is working, consider going back and changing it to something closer to your hardware. As far as I know Unibeast uses iMac14,2 so this suggests some post-install tampering.

Please wipe the pen drive, rebuild it using unibeast in UEFI mode, and see if you can get past this installer screen. Re-upload the pen drive's EFI if you continue to have issues.

Sorry, it is my poor English :)
The process of creation of the pen drive using unibeast it takes about 15 min as you told; it is the installing process that jumps directly from 8 min to 3 min; I know that the estimated time it is only a nice joke but usually installing all other OS from lion to Sierra I can see a progressive process through installation; only trying to install high sierra I can notice this behaviour and real short time of installation

I tred to format and create the installation pen drive several times but the result is always the same. now I would like to try to completely erase the pen drive under a windows environment to wipe in a different way all partition; the I'll try to create it again
.
Have a happy new year and thanks for your help!!!
