hi pastry. obviously vdadecodercheck gives you error on 10.12.6 because shiki boot-flag are specific for high Sierra

Ah. That would explain it. :lol:

Hi, I noticed that you are using SSD-XCPM.aml for power management. When I booted up with your EFI folder, I noticed that X86PlatformPlugin was not loading. I think that you may be better off using an SSDT.aml generated by ssdtprgen. Using ssdtprgen will allow X86PlatformPlugin to load.

Also, you have several other SSDT files for renaming. They are also being renamed using Clover. This should not cause any problems but you only need one of the two solution.

thank you for the tips, I will investigate today.
maybe ssdt-xcpm doesn't work with 8700k?

edit:
i had a quick Look to my efi but I cannot find duplication between acpi edit on config.plist and ssdt.
could you be more specific?

I don't know if it's because of the 8700K... If you need a link to the updated Coffee Lake compatible ssdtprgen, you can find a link to it from my Coffee Lake build description (see my signature below).

Opps. I got confused. I was looking at my renames in config.plist. Lol

Hi pastrychef, Stork recommended I ask you about a sleep/shutdown problem I’ve been having with my build that’s very similar to yours. Would you mind taking a look? Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Hey Pastry,

I'm rocking a BCM94360CD in my board and am having minor WiFi Bluetooth issues. So right off the bat, my WiFi and Bluetooth works. I use Google WiFi and the first issue I'm having is that my Hackintosh doesn't connect to 5.0ghz. The SSID for 2.4 and 5.0 are the same on Google WiFi. Additionally, when I'm downloading something or doing a video call, my bluetooth connection starts to suffer and my magic mouse/keyboard start to lag really badly. From what I've read, because I'm stuck on 2.4ghz, it's conflicting with my Bluetooth connection.

Have you encountered any of these issues or have any recommended solves for them? I've heard a bluetooth extension antenna may help? Does your WiFi connect to 5.0ghz?

Hi.

Yes, I can connect via 5GHz but it's probably because of the extreme close proximity to my router. On my HP Elite 8300, which is just a few feet further away from the router, I am unable to connect via 5GHz.

Yes, 2.4GHz will interfere with Bluetooth. I learned this long ago when I still had my Mac Pro and struggled with finding a fix for a long time. My symptoms were exactly as you are experiencing. Separating the Bluetooth antenna away from the Wi-Fi antennas can help. Connecting to 5GHz Wi-Fi will definitely help.

With this being said, I would try changing antennas to connect to 5GHz. Maybe extension cables to separate the antennas away from each other.

There are several versions of BCM94360 cards that are popular among hackintoshers. The ones I'm using have 3 antennas and the middle one is the one for Bluetooth. When I had my Mac Pro, I used a 4 antenna version of the card and, if memory serves me correctly, the second antenna is for Bluetooth (if it's not the second, then it's the third...).

Edit:
I wanted to add that if you are using a USB 3 PCI-e card, that can also cause Bluetooth interference...

@pastrychef I used this one https://github.com/cylonbrain/VDADecoderCheck

After upgrade to 10.13.2 I get errors:
GVA info: Successfully connected to the Intel plugin, offline Gen95
AVDCreateGPUAccelerator: Error loading GPU renderer
VDADecoderCreate failed. err: -12473
An error was returned by the decoder layer. This may happen for example because of bitstream/data errors during a decode operation. This error may also be returned from VDADecoderCreate when hardware decoder resources are available on the system but currently in use by another process.
VDADecoderCreate failed. err: -12473

@esetnik and @xelanaiznac :

Replacing my AppleGVA.framework with a fresh one from macOS installer fixed this issue for me and VDADecoderChecker now reports "Hardware acceleration is fully supported".

Restore AppleGVA.framework from usb installer, run below from terminal then reboot

cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/
sudo codesign --deep -fs - AppleGVA.framework
sudo chown -R root:wheel AppleGVA.framework
